Professional reviews are too biased and too easily bought these days. I wouldn't put much stock in them--the only review you should concern yourself with is your own individual review.
That said, all of the mainstream Zelda games have been solid, enjoyable experiences. I seriously doubt that Skyward Sword will break that trend.

A review comes AFTER you make the purchase though.
You basically need an honest friend who shares similar interests and opinions as you do. Don't get me wrong here- Skyward Sword sounds amazing and will probably be absolutely fantastic, but I truly wonder if it'll be a 10/10 perfect masterpiece. Even Wind Waker was about a 9 from me at most.

Well numerical scores are highly subjective; for me, I give 10s to games that aren't necessarily perfect, but the flaws are just really nitpicky things that I can easily overlook.
I've consistently enjoyed the Zelda franchise and I think I'll enjoy this one too; I'm not too concerned with whether it's the greatest thing ever made or not. |

Can only put a general trust into review scores. Long as I can get a good feel for whether I'd enjoy it or not that's all that matters. Won't be thinking in numbers when I'm playing a game anyways. All one can do is pay attention to previews, look at a bunch of reviews, and if it's from a series think about how much you enjoy it.
Enjoy Zelda games so no doubt I'm going to pick it up. Whether it's the best in the series or not...we will find out .

It is official, it looks like this is the best game of the year bar none. I would say that other great tittles this year were the witcher 2, portal 2 and skyrim. It is also fascinating to see how all these games can also be considered among the best in over 10 years.
I was expecting Guild wars 2 to come out this year as well, which is supposed to revolutionize online rpgs... but oh well =(

It's going to suck to wait for my copy to show up since i always choose free shipping options. Well the site says expected delivery 26-28th so at least a chance of getting it before my break ends.

Aggravatingly enough, with my limited funds, I had to choose between getting this, or getting the power supply to my new computer so I can finally complete it. And if I got that, I'd lose my preorder to other people... and I need to preorder it because of the damn controller. Only got one of the regular, non-Wii Motion Plus ones.
