Nice episode 1! It really reminds me of Nogizaka haruka except make it the absolute opposite :P. Anywayss it was really cute the art was great and uhm Taiga looks so much cuter than Minami [whoever ryuji likes] in this though :S as opposed to the manga

that bird looks nothing like the real thing.. it makes me miss my two parakeets at home. this show is good. has promise, plus it fills my romantic comedy quota for the season.

I loved the first episode! My expectations were kinda low at first since it was made by J.C.Staff and their recent anime weren't that good. I hope they can keep this level of quality until the very end.

I find that Asaka Taiga is like a tsundere with all the tsun tsun but next to no dere dere. It makes it kind of unfun to watch.

That being said I'm currently working my way slowly through the first 3 volumes of Toradora light novel and volume 1 of nogizaka haruka. I hope the novels don't disappoint.

Well thought that was a good first episode. Thought the tone used with Taiga fit well so that should be fine. Ryuuji put up a good fight during that assassination attempt against his life. Especially since she fights pretty dirty throwing the sheet into his face and then going in for the attack. Liked the guy overall. In tough straits with a look that scares everyone and a mother that is long since lost her mind

. At least he has a solid friend to count on.

Seems like it should be a fine series to follow.

has anyone subbed it in AVI yet? i know GG uses MKV but my pc is too old for it that it chokes on good quality MKV's

It's bugging me to no end. The first female student who spoke on-screen while everyone was looking at what class they were in. The one with black hair. Just before everyone cleared an area for Ryuuji. Who's voice is that?

Finished the first ep. I haven't read any of the Toradora novels. I usually don't follow current series, but I'll probably pick up this, Clannad AS, and Nodame 2 even though I have a huge back-catalogue to catch up on.

Even though they were faulty in other areas, I enjoyed other J.C. Staff/Rie Kugimiya collaborations mostly due to Kugimiya's tsundere loli performances. But in Toradora, the male protagonist is just as interesting, if not moreso, than Kugimiya's character. Similar to Kasanoda from Ouran, Ryuji is a scary-looking guy with a heart of gold. He has social problems due to his looks, and has to deal with family issues due to a presumedly criminal father. His interactions with his peers are hilarious. Taiga has also shown more depth in one episode than Louise did in the entire first season of Zero no Tsukaima. She actually has a reason to be the way she is.

Nods to Shana and Louise were also present in the first episode, with some "Urusai! Urusai!" (only two), and exclamations of Ryuji being a dog thrown in there. Hopefully this doesn't continue throughout the rest of the series and that they develop Taiga into something more than just a Shana/Louise clone.

Toradora is funnier, and appears to be more of a romcom than an action series, with the potential to develop into more serious drama given the protagonists' familial issues. Looks good so far.

Try using Coreavc if you are using FFD video, it will make it playable in most cases.
