At this point I have no hope that this extended nonsense will improve anything. It'll just let Bioware at least pretend they were listening and that will be that. Oh well that'll teach me for buying anything Day 1 from Bioware again.

Well, if The Old Republic turns F2P, and ME never sees another expansion, I think we can consider the battle won.
Of course, we will only win the war by bankrupting EA, and that's going to take quite some time...

I'm still going with my theory that they wanted to separate the Squad from Shepard so they could do that spin-off game with Liara like they said they wanted to in the past. The others are just there to be fair to Liara fans that wont get a happy ending with Shepard.
But hey, if SWTOR goes f2p than I might try it out again. Though the walking... So much needless walking when I played it when it first came out. |

At least they didn't get screwed as bad as ME2 Squad fans. Those guys were really let down because they could all die. I'm sure Bioware didn't think of the ramifications of allowing everyone to die in ME2.

Granted this decision also means that they could not significantly involve those characters in the plot without resorting to stand-in NPCs (this was even lampshaded during the Tuchanka mission in ME3 if you imported a game with a dead Mordin).

It is rather amazing how they could make those consequences really matter in ME2. Someone gets saved from an upgrade and you breathe a sight of relief. And then we have ME3. It was nice to see characters I saved (well at least most of them) come into play along the way. Did all that and then spectacularly fell on their face at the end. Be hard to screw up that bad intentionally.

There weren't any real consequences for saving them other than Tali and Garrus who were the ME1 poster children. Or any real benefit of saving them other than a EMS bump and a short "Hey it's you!".

Not saving Mordin? That excludes you from the best scene in the whole damn game. Yeah, it's not an in-game consequence, but screw that. I'd replay ME2 just for that scene. |

The Reapers in their nerfed ME3 state are no longer ancient godly beings. They are just big and powerful. They can be killed. And they will be killed. That's how it should be.
