Rejoice, some online retailers will get the book with the original Japanese dust cover, maybe in the future they'll just make a reversible cover for the books? I'll probably end up getting the magazine anyway since I don't know when I'll be able to get the book, plus I actually like Yen Press.

Today, Yen Press announced that it had printed extra dust jackets of novel 1. They will be given with the novel (while supplies last) for free IF you order the novel from any online retailer participating in this special giveaway offer. The dust jackets will be shipped unfolded. Yen Press's announcement didn't list which online retailers will be participating; however The Right Stuf said through its Twitter feed that they will offer the dust jacket. Source for Yen Press announcement
Edit: Darn, wandering-dreamer beat me.

So rightstuf actually said they would offer the dust jacket? That changes my plans a little, now I'm more inclined to simply put together a Rightstuf order with the book in there instead of going out and buying the magazine. I like this new plan better.

Hmmm, went ahead and pre-ordered both the novel 1st volume (12/31) and the DVD collection (12/22). I did get the Yen magazine with the S&W alternate cover.... interesting but not that interesting. If they had a selection of comics that were currently running in Japanese mags that I like (e.g. Yotsuba, K-On!, etc) but they don't.

Vol.14 is released on February 10, 2010.
From Dengeki Mail magazine Lawrence who got the north map at last. When he thinks that he can go to Yoitsu together with Horo at last, they have faced the awkward situation in the port town Renose. Hmm Lawrence and Horo cannot arrive in Yoitsu yet. The story is set in Renose again. I would like to read the love triangle of Horo and the waitress of a tail dish restaurant. |

Although it was one month ago, Spice & Wolf Vol.13 SIDE COLORS III was released on November 10.
The title included in this side story collection is as follows. 1. Wolf and a honey pickled peach : 74 pages 2. Wolf and a twilight color's present : 33 pages 3. Wolf and a silver sigh (Horo's perspective) : 30 pages 4. Shepherd and black knight (New work) : 133 pages Especially an interesting story is "Shepherd and black knight." This is a sequel of a Nora arc and, surprisingly it is a story of an Enek viewpoint. To my regret, there is not Horo. This is quotation of the outline from an official site. "Nora who retired from the shepherd was traveling with Enek after the smuggling case of gold in Rubinhaigen. In order to realize her dream which becomes a tailor, she was heading for the town which needs a help. On the way, Nora helps the bishop of the church attacked by someone. The bishop's destination as well as Nora was "a town whose population has decreased by the epidemic." Spoiler for more detailed outline:
According to an afterword, it seems that the author has already begun preparation of the following work which replaces Spice & Wolf. It seems that the author has planned to surprise everyone although the contents are still secret. |

do you think it's possible that the author is planning to write a new series with nora as the main character to replace the original story? and what chapter was it when the anime ended this season (trying to catch up btw) |

Hey guys, I want to order the S&W light novel in english (w/ the original cover), but Right Stuf is no option as it does not accept PayPal
Any other solution? I checked like 2-3 sites (anime castle for example) to order it and yen plus dec2009 issue both to get the cover for sure, but shipping rates are horrid, anime castle would ship that 14 dollar stuff for 43 dollar!? SUPER COOL STORY BRO Other anime sites, sadly, had just a bit better rates like 20-30 dollars :\ (lol, Europe) So far what I'm looking forward is this: I don't care if it won't arrive but in January to be honest, I'm willing to wait to pay less. However, do they supply the slip cover too? Anyone got some info about this? (yes I know I should ask the guy but I can't for today and since this is my only option AT ALL to order I'll do it right now I think.) |
