I got bored reading this Novel. The pacing of the story is just atrocious. There are times when I don't understand what is happening when reading the story. Side characters comes of as two dimensional. The MC is a bit annoying with his indecisiveness and his character development is just not realistic. He starts out weak and suddenly becomes strong when he was bestowed the hero title by the saint. Most of the girls in his harem is meh. The only ones that are good are Lyle-sensei and Louise. The saint Lia is sometimes has funny interaction with the MC. Princess silhouette is too passive of a character that she comes off more as a side character than a heroine.
Also his development of guns and canons just comes off as unrealistic. To easily create them by just giving blueprints to a blacksmith and have him perfect the designs straight away? C'mon, at least the MC from Release that Witch actually went through many hurdles and trial and errors to be able to manufacture his firearms.

^You are absolutely correct
The only outstanding parts are the Netori of Sara-chan, Zombie Apocalypse, and The Reveal of Fox Bitch The End of Arc Battles are great too Aside from that just kinda mediocre and main heroine clearly shifted from Silhouette to Carla and Oracle

^The mediocrity stems from the lack of details
Like there is half-elf Silhoutte but where's the real elves? Why MC suddenly so strong in combat? Why guns so easily perfected? All of those seemed to be resolved in the LN (went to elf village and shit) so that's why this author's LN so popular

^ What I lack in this novel is some kind of motivation, central theme or effort. It feels like a string of event, that I find myself less and less caring about the more the novel progresses. That is even worsened by the main plot being somewhat comedy themed (no serious consideration, comedy solutions) and the MC sometimes doing absolutely out of the character things.
One example. When he is inventing guns, he mentions how he has to make his resolve, how dangerous it is and how horrible it would be if his enemy got them. Then, later on, he meets a certain thief, who using a skill almost kills him and severely injures Luise, giving him motivation to get stronger and serious trauma about losing the girls, and he also fears the thief, OK. And then the thief comes and says "I am interested in guns, can you give me that new superstrong one?" and the answer is? "OK". What?! |
