The bridge scene was cool slick and awesome, the humvee scene felt like watching a Captain Tsubasa episode where the football field is about 5 kilometers long, but updated with today's graphics, cheap CGs that is usually seen in things by AIC and Gonzo in its worst days, and zombies.

It doesn't mean that I like the series less, it is just that the way this scene was executed felt cheap, and un-Madhouse-like.

I like this episode, I like the morality issues it raised (the whole deal about the family and Alice's father), I like that FUCK YEAH HUMANITY that Takashi Team gives us, and I prefer it to the pessimism of Romero who seems to moan that we may be better off as zombies than still humans, but I just wish that that scene was done a little better.

I see what you mean . Well , maybe 1-2 things feel cheap, i find that Madhouse are still doing fine with this show . I read the manga and this is quite good for an adaptation .

That's what I first thought it caused the zombie pandemic, but after watching the seventh episode that doesn't hold validity to me anymore.

What we know is that the condition (or disease or whatever they want to call it) is transmitted through physical contact with the zombies; primarily get yourself bitten by 'them' at any body part.
1. Neither manga nor the anime haven't shown onscreen what happens if a living person comes in contact with a zombies' body fluids- blood (primarily), sweat, saliva- through accidental ingestion. For example, drinking from a contaminated water source that has the zombie's blood spilled all over, and the same applies to food contaminated by accidental spill of a zombie's blood, however, I assume it would have the same effects as if bitten by any zombies.

2. This carrier-through-bite convention is established in Romeros' zombie-films and in Return of the Living Dead franchises, as well other (non)zombie franchises. Hence, it is the default mean in any zombie genre by which a living turns into a zombie.

3. If the contagion is, indeed, the work of a leaked virus, said virus hasn't evolved yet to become airborne, therefore, opening the door two to scenarios:
a) Let's say it is a virus that causes the zombie transformations. If it becomes airborne, then it will become cause of concern and worry for the living. Because it'll spread everywhere in the atmosphere and become a matter of time before the remaining living people succumb to its effects.
b) The virus is airborne but doesn't affect living cells which means all living beings are 100% immune only to airborne contagion, however, the virus does affect necrotic tissue or cells. This scenario was cause of dispute and debate in the very first of Romero's zombie tetralogy, Night of the Living Dead, as to speculate how the corpses reanimated and became zombies.
It went by that said virus affected people already dead or long-dead corpses at reanimating dead cerebral activity and motor functions back.

However, those two scenarios are negated in HOTD, because we can clearly see that the survivors are not suffering from any symptoms, unless they get themselves eaten or bitten by the zombies (a).

When the pink-haired girl's father died of a non-zombie wound, his corpse did not reanimate and, thus, becoming a zombie. The man stayed dead for good, thus, dying human entirely (b).

My hypothesis:
I believe this infection and world-wide pandemonium was the work of a chemical agent. An agent that was leaked or spilled by accident, or deliberately introduced into a dense population as part of a chemical warfare experiment that suddenly got out of their maker's control.

Can be feasible, and it happened in the Return of the Living Dead franchise films. Someone or a few people got exposed directly to the toxin and breathed it, or the chemical got into a water supply from which anyone drank from it, thus, triggering the zombie-domino effect.

However, that doesn't explain how come zombie outbreaks spread or triggered throughout the whole world at almost the same time intervals.

I wouldn't mind if they kept the pace slow and just made a second series. Infact, I'd prefer it.

That's what was so annoying about Angel Beats, they rushed it too fast at the end and it left me dissapointed as I just wanted more.

I fail to see how the pacing is horrible, even though the episodes cover 1 chapter, 1 chapter of HSOD is around 30 pages long, which is about twice as much as the current "Big Three" have.

Well as we all know it's named highschool so it started at school when a zombie bit a teacher on the front gate and it spread. What are the nearest areas in a school that may have a zombie? None...possible like Night of the Living Dead a drum canister of a contaminated experiment dropped from a vehicle and pops out a zombie and walked to school since it herd the school bell rang.

Anyways this isn't hentai since it DOESN'T have sex. But sensei wants some.

Well, the action was good. And the comparisons between all of the different groups of people were notable. Saeko was bad ass on top of that hummer too.

But...the fan service...why? I was laughing more at the ridiculous service shots than anything. I really hate when the boobs bounce like that too; at least adhere to some kind of law of physics. *sigh*

Well Alice can just the nurse as the non-combatants of the group. But yeah either we get that girl a lightsabre or some magical girl powers . Besides I think keeping Alice as pure as possible (via not killing) will be a goal of the group for the sake of their humanity.

In terms of theories I still can't give up on the terrorist attack angle. I mean if you want to unleash this kind of event at various locations at almost the same time you need either great coincidences or serious planning. All you need to do is get your agents to their destinations and have them infect themselves. Depending on the group should be possible to find guys willing to suicide in this manner. Wouldn't surprise me if the group responsible was already hunkered down in a remote area planning on waiting this whole thing out.

As for terrorist attack. There was only one zombie and it was in front of the school gate then boom!!!. Everyone got infected.
