The only way I think our country would survive post-Operation Babylon would be if our OFW population still exists in the ML world, the funny thing is, the ones in power are probably still going to be relatives of our politicians today. |

Heck yeah I would. I'd even hijack or build a PAK-FA to get myself there.

So just finished playing the Muv-Luv trilogy...
Now I don't think it deserves nearly the acclaim it gets, but it was enjoyable and definitely at times "epic." However, there are definitely some clear problems that prevented me from absolutely loving this story. Spoiler for Some complaints, spoilers:
I'll have some more thoughts later anyways.

So, I finished Meiya's route in Extra, yesterday. After almost a year-odd of procastination and being tempted away by Mass Effect 3 and Far Cry 3 and Skyrim (FUS RO DAH! Steal everything!) I finally knuckled down to play Extra.
My stream of consciousness thoughts, which I jotted down as I played: Spoiler for Goose's stream of consciousness while clearing Meiya:
All in all, I had fun. XD Now to clear Sumika, Tama-chan, Class Rep, Trollmine, and Marimo-chan.

I downloaded Extra in 2011 (I think, can't really remember if it was earlier), and spent much of 2011 putting off playing it, and only just knuckled down to play Meiya's route this week.
Besides, it's kinda a niche game.

So you figure that Marcos may have not been so power hungry due to the needs of fighting the BETA.
Speculatively, would that mean that Marcos became a dictator to protect the Phillipines? <.< In this verse, at least. Based on what I've read, it appears that while the Thais have mostly been NOMMED, the Malaysians and the Singaporeans are holding the southern Thailand bottleneck against the BETA (presumably with ANZAC assistance) while the US, Australian and Phillipine Navies are keeping the BETA from making a breakout from southern Vietnam.

With that in mind the Philippines could actually be a vital part of the SEA defense line by being a major staging ground for forces in the region, as well as a vital supply line (like what the Japanese did during WWII). Also, I fully expect any Filipino TSF melee combat doctrines (if ever) to revolve around the wonderful art of TSF-scaled Kali/Arnis. Finally a few questions for anyone who has played the games (I don't mind being spoiled) Spoiler for spoilers for other people:

I still thinkt here would be widespread corruption going on, but considering the timeline, it would mean the PA/PAF would b getting at least a few more TSF than the real-world PAF has planes. As to using Arnis, you'd have to consider the difference between melee halberd types. If PA/PAF TSFs would be using Arnis-like techniques, they'd probably adopt melee halberds like the Chinese TSFs (Straight), not like the Japanese ones---read the Muv-Luv Wiki for the details on different Melee Halberd types. Something sort of like this. There's a particular blade I'm looking for, can't recall the name but it's similar a bit to this (The one I'm looking is a straight double-edged blade with an even two-pronged tip.)
