The last scene was almost fine, but I don't really know why they all of a sudden started introducing the character names in that scene.
And what I particularly don't understand is why they introduced the voice actors in that scene. Man, if there was one way to bring the audience out of the scene, it's just randomly deciding to introduce the VAs. At first, I didn't even know why there were two names on the screen. I could not even imagine the VAs were being shown.
But noooo, I eventually realized those were the VAs and I'm like, why?

Maybe due to cast credits and maybe some unknown JP law. No idea.

Probably because they're worried new viewers don't remember the characters and it make sense. I can't imagine anyone remembering them with 2/3 episodes of background focus.

That still doesn't explain why they introduced the VAs with them.
This putting aside the fact I don't think most of the (remaining) audience cares to remember these characters. Outside of their character designs being reuses from other games, they are literally just "Pilot A, B, C, etc" so far, and probably most of them will die if they do another season

Final episode is a nice [and our story still continue] type of episode with no sequel announcement.

Can I hope for another season in year(s)???

A bit better than the first cour, mostly because of the fight scenes in the later eps.

Spoiler for final thoughts:

The animation is so wonky when they aren't fighting BETA
I mean, look at the first scene in the last episode. She drops her hat and her sister puts it back on her, but between the two scenes, her hat is back on her head and then off again

On a similar note, since they actually fought BETA this season, it was a definite improvement from the first season. Every heroine other than Sumika still is underdeveloped and honestly is on the same level as any of the Isumi Valkryier, but Sumika was done ok. Sure, a bit rushed, but the diary scene still hit me.

And of course, the usual problems from the first season like different VAs and overall being rushed still apply.
But at least the OP is actually good now, with Kuribayashi and JAM doing it instead of the VTubers... Yeah, I really don't know how they got here. Still doing the ED, but whatever.

the Vtubers are apparently recommended by Tororo the producer cause he wanted a music groupl that can help capture or link to younger audiences. Usuki is apparently his pet project too.

There is the Japanese saying, Those who chase two hares get none.
I keep seeing that in these "old materials getting anime now" stuff. Urusei Yatsura's OP being so modern (totally out of place, bleh), using recent VAs, etc. etc.

They need to face it. Those "young" people have little interest in these types of shows. It doesn't work. As long as the actual show is what it originally was, the younger audience won't care.
So instead of trying half-heartedly to capture both the young and old audience, just appeal to one of them. You know, the old audience that actually cares about the series.
Heck, now that we are "old", we're the ones working and have the money. Make us old men happy and we have more than enough money to support whatever you are trying to do (depends).
