Sincerely doubt that it will be another 12 episodes considering the 6th fight is currently still ongoing. Even 10 episodes would be way big of a stretch for the 4th and 5th fight.
So my guess is that this will be just the Jack vs. Hercules fight, and they will continue with this format onwards. But above all else, have some good animation quality this time, please! |

Wait, this series did decent enough to get a second season? All I ever heard is that the animation for the fights- which is the whole draw of the show in the first place- was pretty bad. So I definitely didn't see a second season being possible.

So, I haven't watched the first season but I have a question for those who have watched it & like it: What is the appeal of the show other than watching random characters fight?
I mean, the characters in the show really don't represent their "real life" myth & historical depictions in terms of looks & powers. So why even attach names like Kojiro, Thor, Zeus, etc when they feel like entirely different characters? It feels like Fate nonsense but with less Lore.

Golden Kamuy is an example of a series in which the seasons were improving in quality with each new production, but in the case of shummatsu we would be talking about something totally different.

I think the series has a lot of good points. the current fight in the manga is incredibly interesting. |

15 episodes are confirmed for Season 2.
First 10 episodes will be available on the 26th of January. The rest follows with no date yet in 2023. Season 1 adapted 20 chapters more or less in 12 episodes. This one will adapt about 34 chapters. On paper the pacing is better, but I still think it will drag a lot, especially if the intention is 5 episodes per fight. |

Finished watching it. The animation is exactly on the same level as that of season 1. Shiva vs Raiden was quite the slideshow.
Currently number 2 on Netflix in my country, I don't think even Cyberpunk: Edgerunners ranked that high as far as anime go. Third season is pretty much as good as confirmed, it's cheap to make and it's popular. No reason not to order another season.
