So both this author and Hiroyuki had a meeting or some shit, where they decided with the editorial staff that they are ending their manga (relatively soon). Or rather it was a meeting about the final parts of their manga approaching.
Horikoshi talked about stuff like this when they have decided on 20 volumes, but that got extended to 30 volumes etc. Kanojo, Okarishimasu just started its 30th volume's chapters. We all know the pacing is piss poor, but I don't see a 40 volumes long extension. That would be another 98 chapters of this garbage. Something in-between should be fine. Though if Season 3 comes late, then 40 volumes is also possible. Yikes! By the way, I bet some forced marriage bullshit is coming from Kazuya's family and that would be the conclusion of this farce. Chizuru still has the ring and she would accept. |

I read that apparently this series should have lasted for 10 volumes but then the authorcrealized that he needed more time to properly tell the story (which I translate as "he wanted to milk the series for more money") and we know how it ended. Which is a bit of a shame because I think the shorter version could have been much better. I don't know what are Reiji's plan for this, going for 300 chapters, 40 volumes, until the anime airs, but the sooner he ends it the better.

Evidently, as others mentioned before, there is still a large enough portion of the fanbase that find relatable the idea of going after an impossible to win girl without regards for your own dignity.

What the fuck was this chapter?
Chizuru asks Kazuya about needing the bath as if living there for a month wouldn't mean he most likely needs it daily. She knows he is broke, so don't even think she could have assumed he is going somewhere else for his daily bathes. Leaving this aside, Kazuya just gets worse each passing chapter. It sounds impossible, but it's the truth. He sits in the borrowed room and listens to the two girls conversing, the same shit that happened while drinking. Meanwhile, he creams his pants just thinking about how Chizuru bathes and how he eventually going to use the same bath. Bonus point for Yaemori using it as well. At this rate every single day of them living together will be depicted like this. Eating from the same bread as Chizuru. Drinking the same water as Chizuru. He acts the least natural when he thinks he is stepping on a landmine 24/7 and watches how he responds to her, how he behaves around her for Chizuru investigation points. It's really tiresome. |

Looks like that other manga from the author is coming back from hiatus.
Jog my memory, didn't he say the reason it went on hiatus was because he wanted to concentrate on Kanojo, Okarishimasu? Around 18 chapters happened since the hiatus, Chapter 241-258. Did anyone notice any quality improvement in the story, perhaps? The other angle of this is that now that they are under the same roof, he really can start padding things further with abysmal pacing while he works on his other manga. As for the Sumi spin-off, it's probably sentenced for yearly 6-7 chapters just to get out a volume. Expect the next batch around Spring 2023. |

SUMI SHOWED UP.
SUMI SHOWED UP. Aside from that, this toothbrush chapter was dumb...but I want to mention I NEVER use regular toothbrushes anymore; they have to be electric. One time I switched back to regular for a while and got SO MANY CAVITIES. x_X So yeah, never again....but I also eat way more sugar than the average manga character, I'm pretty sure.
