I'm not surprised that this got turned into an anime. The type of story it was seemed like something that would get adapted. After I seen it got a manga, I was even more certain of it. The manga artwork was pretty nice. I liked the main character sometimes acting like a battle maniac sword guy instead of a girl.
I read 116 chapters of the web novel. I liked it at first because it had a sword fighting crazy girl main character. Unfortunately after reading it for awhile, I felt like the web novel just concentrated too much on action and not enough on developing the main story and characters. It didn't feel like the characters had enough personality. Just when I thought some build up of story or character was coming, another long action scene occurred. But this type of story works better seeing it visually as an manga or anime. Maybe the light novel was improved from the web novel. At least I hope so. LOTS of female characters in this story. |

And in most cases the gender-flip is so unnecessary. Like Inglis could just be a battle-crazy girl being reincarnated into a battle-crazy girl. The fact that she was a guy in her previous life doesn't contribute anything. And she doesn't even act like a guy in her current life anyway. She acts like a girl for the most part. A battle-crazy girl but still a girl.

I thought the beginning of the web novel was just fine.
It's only later on that it became something like this: ACTION Talk a little ACTION Some cute stuff between the girls LONG ACTION A little main plot LONG ACTION Talk a little ACTION It was like that. But the action will move faster watching it than reading it so that should help. I wonder if they'll even get that far though. They'll probably just rush and skip stuff like usual. Well...in this case I might not actually mind if they do that. |

I'm so tired of people calling 90% of fantasies "Isekai" these days. Fantasy hero is not Isekai, even if he's OP and has a harem. Reincarnated from fantasy world to same fantasy world may have closer connections depending on how much the world changed (which is often a lot) but is still nowhere near Isekai. Not every fantasy is Isekai, people!
