When Maka punched Asura she was using her Anti-Magic power that Stein and some others were referring to. It's the same thing that restored Crona (physical contact), and I believe she used it one other time in the series. Her courage is what allowed her to physically get that close to Asura, then she made physical contact with him via punch to use her anti-magic. When she punches, it's clear that something goes through Asura, the way his face fluctuates like it's swallowing something.

it's "swallowing" the impact, the speed and the strenght all at once. It's called a punch (and a strong one). If it has anything to do with anti-magic, they would have mentionned it. Though, they only talked about "courage".
Don't quote me on this but I recall them all saying vague things like, 'it's not a technique that will help her, it's something else", and the anti-magic isn't a technique exactly, since it's part of her soul wave length. And yea, her bravery allowed her to get that close to Asura but I think it's pretty plausible that it's the anti-magic, considering how when she had physical contact with others throughout the series (soul, crona, and then Asura) she was able to use that power. Oh yea, and she even says herself in previous episodes that she isn't physically strong but her soul is strong blah blah. Anyways, I'm gonna believe that it was the anti-magic.
