This was the episode that solidified the show as my favourite of the season. An impeccable combination of action, hot bloodedness, character development and the introduction of the devious Viral as voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama earned this episode a rare perfect from me.

In any case, Kamina owns. He's the reason I like this series. |

This is just... so much fun to watch.
My main comments are over in the generic thread... but the show has many more layers than one might initially think (it aint' just a kid's show or a Yoko-drooler show). It looks like we're going to be watching the gang encounter a variety of different cultures on their way -- additional plusses. (9/10 for a nice collection of fantasy motifs in one show)

Uh oh... I sense that Yoko has a slight *thing* for Aniki.
A bit disappointed.. It had its funny moments, but they weren't near as good (or as numerous) as episode two's. Aniki's overconfidence spawns from nothing again, Simon is wimpy but pulls through again, and then.. there's a weird combination thing Aniki somehow knew would work... Is it just that I haven't watched many mecha shows that I don't really understand the combination thing (but Aniki does)? Maybe the char development is just really slow? *shrugs* This ep was good, but not as good as two, IMO. It seems now, though, the real journey begins. Hopefully it'll only get better and better. |
