Super excited about this. DA was the best season and I love Tai. I also hope most of the other characters get in on the act except for Matt and the season 2 kids.

You just make me feel worried about this now, if this is from Toei, they have Sailor Moon for a year so I don't know if they will have the time to make a full serie of Digimon.

I think it was somewhere in this thread, but someone had posted a clip of Xross Wars that had Tai in it. After watching it I realized that I'm going to REALLY miss the English Dub cast when I watch this. Sure, those were the days before I knew what anime was and such, but even then I really liked Digimon Adventure's English voices. They all fit, and I honestly can't see Tai sounding any other way. Even now I remember them all perfectly.

I - wouldn't worry about that, tbh. Toei is a fairly massive company.

Frankly, if the year-long-every-single-year-one-series-starts-the-week-after-another-ends schedule for Kamen Rider and Sentai hasn't dented their ability to make anime yet, then one twenty-four episode Sailor Moon anime will have approximately zero effect on whether Digimon is a full series or not.

My guess is that the anime will take Abarenbou Kishi!! Matsutarou's times slot (6:30 AM JST) since that anime will most likely end next spring and that was Xros Wars time slot (during its second half).

If so, it almost guarantees a full year run.

The runtime's a non-factor to me; If a potential OVA/Movie can put out same kind of memorable quality that the Adventure Movie or Bokura no War Game had, I'd take that over a multi-cour TV series in a heartbeat.

I absolutely love Our War Games. Just the sheer awesomeness of Omegamon.

One of 02's sins IMO is that its movie made Omegamon look weak.

i hope it retcons everything in digimon adventure 02 if it's going to be a tv series. or better yet pretend the DA 02 characters never existed

i lost interest in digimon 02 as a kid when it first aired in the U.S. i think i gave it 2 or 3 episodes and that was only because of tai and the others showing up.

if anything, i want toei to have the dark ocean (dark world JP) more of a presence in this new sequel.

I was truly into 02 until the end of the Digimon Emperor arc.

The Control Spires arc was dull, boring, and repetitive. The "novelty" of the 02 Digimon gaining Champion digovolution ran out pretty quick (and I still prefer their Armor forms). The DNA digovolution are underwhelming, and of course that arc ends with the reveal of Shakkoumon, which IMO is another one of 02's sins. The only saving grace in this arc is BlackWarGreymon looking cool as hell.

The International arc was great in concept, but very poor execution.

Then the final arc, the Dark Spores, was just a complete mess. The reveal that Myotismon was behind everything gained no favors from me. MalonMyotismon looks silly in comparison to VenomMyotismo, hell Devimon's cameo during the Digimon Emperor arc was better than this "big reveal".

Overall I enjoyed 02, but this had plenty problems.

Not only had several inconsistencies (which many have already mentioned), but also had problems in the development of characters (An example: Daisuke had almost no development).

I have a special problem with the lack of resolution that Takeru and Hikari (they are my favorite characters) had in 02:
- The terror of Hikari to the call of the darkness was resolved in a very unsatisfactory manner. Apparently she would not go to Dark Ocean after doing DNA with Miyako (never clear why the Dark Ocean is so interested in her).
- At least she had some sort of resolution, the fury of Takeru directed at those who abuse the power of darkness was never again mentioned after Iori knew about the death of Patamon.

Even though this is about DA, which I loved, these news kind of make me want to go back and rewatch Tamers. My favourite season by far, since it had an interesting and competent female protagonist (much as I love the DA girls).

On Hikari not being in the trailer... hmm.. isn't she possibly referenced by the whistle at 1.20? She's the only one I remember having one- when she was little.

I had the same expression and was so hyped i was about to share it with others then i too had a little look into the development and to my horror it was Toei.

I really hope they do not screw this up - hyped about their last production and that... well could be soooo much better.

Still cant wait for the first episode to come out >.<!

precisely this. Another thing I want is Tai and Izzy hanging out a lot. They are the best duo.

These two designs were created by Suzuhito Yasuda. Honestly, I do not really like these two designs (especially the boy).

Still, I really like the designs of Suzuhito Yasuda on Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.
