Princess and Akiba.
It was about time for her to see how the other side lives. She sure became popular fast ^^ The new outfit was very nice too. Guess she came to ask for help. Lucky her everyone was hungry of a good event. Good episode.

It's funny you should say that because getting people hyped up and pumped with the right atmosphere is like gaming 101. Make it a big deal and people would give it their all.

Did you guys notice that "Castle Cinderella" in Maihama with fireworks going on in the back?
Maihama is where Tokyo Disneyland is located. Mamare tweeted feigning innocence.

On one hand, it provokes the princess to make bold statements and heartfelt pleas. And on the other hand it also shows him as the unfeeling asshole willing to watch thousands of people die while sitting on his thumbs, and you don't want to be an unfeeling asshole, right? The anime speech, was lot more overtly manipulative, and left him looking lot better to those not aware of his manipulations. And that, imo, lessens his character. |

Hmm, It's quite an engaging episode. Princess Raynesia exhorting the adventurers to help her "defend their freedom." You could just see how she views with respect the vast gulf in belief systems between the Adventurers and Landers.
"What does it mean to be a noble if even ordinary soldiers are this knowledgeable?" The old feudal system and the republic of the the adventurers really does stand out here. Anyways yeah everyone went for Souji LOL. The West Wind Brigade members were all jelly. XD And hot damn that Berserker Krusty. I really like these types xP

That information has the potential to cause panic if revealed carelessly. I'd imagine it's being kept on a strictly need to know basis. The fact that there hasn't already been widespread panic about memory loss is no one has died enough to cause significant harm to themselves yet. I'm sure the information will be revealed eventually, but through a carefully controlled fashion to ease people into it instead of just dropping a verbal bombshell on them leading to trouble.

Shiroe is not a traditional hero, he does not do the morally upright things, he does the effective things, and that includes making not all morally righteous choices when he deems them necessary. Some adventurers might loose some memories opposed to tens of thousands of humans DYING, choice seems pretty obvious from purely pragmatic point of view. |

I agree with you that Shiroe needs to come clean before recruiting players for a quest that might lead to them dying in-game and losing some memories in real-life. I don't think the goblin quest qualifies. Thanks for reminding me of that. As a viewer I see the NPCs as humans and forget that the Adventurers have a different perspective. What I heard as jealousy may just have been annoyance at having to deal with an NPC. Still it's hard to see anyone thinking that Lenessia is just a puppet of the game designers. Her behavior seems too complex and "human" for that to be true.

Yet the Adventurers can't judge huddle behind Akiba's walls paralyzed of fear of losing their memories. That's just living death. I'm sure everyone will be told about memories soon enough but remember the Goblin event started before there was ever a chance to do this tactfully. There just hasn't been time. Also remember that it's already been proven that a few deaths isn't going to do significant damage to their memories. Even Krusty didn't realize what was happening until Shiroe revealed it and helped him connect the dots.
Considering the amount of distance they have to travel to fight the Goblin horde the most each adventurer has to risk is a single death, maybe two tops if the war drags on. Goblins themselves are fairly low level monsters, the army is only really dangerous as there's a crap load of them. A small army of adventurers should have little trouble crushing them. |
