That was probably inevitable, given what a hit the manga was right out of the gate. Hopefully this time around the anime is a little more faithful to the spirit of the manga than Barakamon was.

This announcement pleases me greatly. I love the Handa-kun manga as much as I do Barakamon. Handa-kun (manga) has a slightly different feel to it than Barakamon does due to the difference in Handa's age and the different settings. So don't go into Handa-kun (anime) expecting a rehash of Barakamon. However, if you didn't like Barakamon at all, I'm not sure that Handa-kun will be different enough to pull you in.

I loved Barakamon, but I don't know if I will like this as well since some of the things I loved the most in the series were the girls, and here we will have none of them
Even so, I will give it a chance, since I loved the original show |

Couldn't get into Barakamon either, but the premise of Handa-kun sounds like a manga I read long ago about a guy with a really scary face. It was really funny how people were completely terrified of him while he was totally oblivious to their reactions. If this is like that, it should be good for a watch.

Off-topic, but I found the manga (Angel Densetsu) and it predates Toradora by at least 14 years. Plus I doubt it's the first comedy manga to use the "Nice guy protagonist with scary face" idea either.
Back on topic, I'll give Handa-kun a try because it sounds like something that would be very funny if they did it right.

Anyway, I wouldn't label Handa as a scary guy He is just... how to say it... socially weird? |
