Welcome to the nominations phase of the banner contest. These are all of the entries. I've never seen so many entries before, let alone so many great entries! It's going to be harder to choose my favorites than ever before and I imagine you're going to have the same problem.

First a little announcement: The forum will be down for a short period next weekend (2006-09-30) while we update our forum software. Among other things this is necessary so that we can smoothly transition to the new banner size and gradiant.

Rules for the nominations phase are in the next post, right after the list of entries.

Here are the rules for nominations.

You may nominate 1 to 3 of your favorite banners.
Regardless of which of the three is your favorite they will be rated equally, so don't nominate a banner unless you want it to compete with your favorite in the next round. Remember that while 3 is the maximum number of banners you may nominate, you do not have to nominate that many.
Do not confuse the voting by changing your nominations or attempting to vote multiple times. If I get confused by you, I will ignore all of your nominations.
Please identify your nomination by name and number. For example you may choose:

mantidor-49
(This is just an example of the format I expect to see. These are not my actual nominations. )
If you wish to add the image of the banner you are nominating so that other people can see your choice without having to refer back to the first post, that is wonderful, but please include the number so I don't have to refer back here and search for it. It would also be nice to include the artist's name, but number is essential! There are going to be a lot of nominations so please make it easy on me.
You have until 06:00:00 Wed Oct 4, 2006 in GMT to nominate your favorite banner.
At that time I am going to lock this thread. Check Time Zone Converter for information on what time this is near you. (In EST this is 2am Wednesday morning.)
Shortly after that I am going to create the final voting thread.
The 12 most popular banners are going to be voted on in a simple poll that ends on October 11th after exactly 7 days of voting. Polls close automatically so please check the poll for information concerning when it will close in your timezone.

PS. Nominating yourself is a bit tacky, but not illegal. If you really think that yours is the best then go for it, but hopefully you'll nominate someone else also.

Wow oh wow, lots of freaking banners. Great work all.

But Im going to say that I don't know whats with all the hype on Kairin... who is she even? Am I missing something here? Anyway, here are my 3 votes.

1) Slugzilla - 78
2) Daniel E. - 12
3) Hellychan - 22

No offence to all, I just find that these three banners really say Halloween to me. Really good work to all, and good luck!

My first pic has been my all around favorite pretty much since I lay my eyes on it.

The other two were extremely difficult to choose. I really wanted to include at least two more, but I guess I have to follow the rules and stick with my favorite 3.

If ImageShack was down that would be a real problem. (Fortunately I've got all entries on my hard drive so I can host them elsewhere.) I can see all the entries, but that might only be because they are still in my cache.

There are so many good entries, that 3 nominations only is kinda unfair.

I've chosen it, because of the nice transition effects. Besides the used character has this halloween like touch. The pale moonlight shining on her in the night, giving that banner a ghoststory like expression. And the character has a somewhat anxious expression. The idea with the pitch black butterflies is nice too.

Hellychan #22

Its about Kairin, its clearly about Halloween, it reminds me of a funny game I once played, do I have to say more? I like the simplicity, you do not need to look several seconds at it to figure out each and every style element, so the message goes right into the brain with the first look on it.

If there wasn't purple eyes (which is a nice effect), this banner would be hue wise almost monochrome, giving it a nice vintage touch. I also like the way, the single elements blend (it is almost prefectly composed). Another interesting feature is the spacing of the font, it makes a well proportioned use of the new size the banners have.

If it didn't disqualify my vote, I'ld nominate some more banners. Its a pity and you all put so much effort into it. Big thanks to the participators.

So many nice banners. It's so hard to choose. >_<;; I manage to narrow down my favorites somehow. ^Aya^ 01, Daniel E 10, Deathkillz 13, Hellychan 21 22, iotd 23 24, Lilith 45, Mantidor 49, SlugZilla 77 78. That's still too many... xD

It seems Deathkillz 13, Hellychan 22 and iotd 23 got enough supporter so far. So I'll go pick diffferent ones that still need voice. ^^
