Laptop with no HDMI cable, need help
I noticed the other day my laptop doesn't have a HDMI cable output. Is there another way to hook it up to the TV? Would I need a converter that would go in the USB spot? I have a Lenovo T520 model laptop. I can help out with any other questions, just let me know

Also, given that nearly all flatpanel TVs either have HDMI or VGA ports, I'd say use the latter with the proper cable, and another audio cable with 3.5mm stereo male jack on one end and a couple of RCA audio jacks.

Your laptop has DisplayPort, it is very similar to HDMI, not as common on HDTV's, but does cool stuff like daisy chains.
If the the DP on your T520 is similar to the one on my X220 (it should be, the logo on top of the port should have two "+" next to the D), and it passes the DVI/HDMI signal as well, which means it can use a (cheaper) passive adapter like this guy. Sadly Monoprice doesn't have any DP to HDMI cables TT_TT, so if you want a full cable instead of just the adapter, Google is your friend. EDIT: btw, DP passes audio through so you don't need an additional cable for audio. |

DisplayPort is electrically identical with HDMI, it's only the connectors that are different. There are cables that has a DisplayPort connector in one end and HDMI one in the other. See this one for example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812270471 (note, mini displayport is yet another connector though)
