this is a hard poll for me.. i like both animes..
marimite are for those who like sisterly love and to those who wants to keep guessing what is the real deal between the characters..
strawberry panic on the other hand just gives it to on a silver platter.. no need to think twice about their sexuality.. i like chikaru though.. hehe

whoa their names are so close

Seeing Strawberry Panic first and then watching Marmite, I think I like Marmite a lot better.

my vote goes to marimite i like the flow of the story rather than strawberry panic. SP gave me a shock though its not half-bad but i got bored in the middle of the series and felt bad for tamao in the end.

What kind of a lame comment was that? If you don't have anything sensible to say then just don't say anything at all.

Anyway, I suppose I must be honored to be the 100 voter, but something troubles me with this vote. Poll 'Which is better - SP or Maria-sama" in the Marimite forum? That doesn't sound fair...
But let's compare a few numbers (sounds hard, but I suck at maths, so just relax, it'll be easy )
Here, on animesuki forums, Strawberry Panic has one major thread which has 1,893 replies and 129,848 views. Marimite has a whole forum with 7 pages of threads. If you check all the pages(did that for ya ), you'll see two noticeable threads - Marimite [Unfortunately SPOILERS Lurk Here] which has 845 replies and Marimite Image Thread with 101,702 views(though I believe the keyword here is 'Image').
Having in mind that I'm not really good with calculations, I'll just leave it to you guys to decide which is bigger. Of course, Marimite has a whole forum with 6 pages with 25 threads per page ...then again, let's not become petty.

To put it bluntly - both shows are good and they both have their fans. But just for me, I enjoyed much more Strawberry Panic than Marimite, because the one and only reason I watched Maria-sama was because everyone said they were the same. I was so hoping that to be true, too bad it wasn't...

Maria-sama hands down. I love the story alot more and the music. Also I just connect more with that story line. I also like SP a bit but its just two predictable.

Marimite of course.

It's more touching than SP (in my thought)

Besides every Marimite's characters are very cute, take example of Satou Sei

One more thing is, Marimite is less fanservice (Which I like it)

The one thing that really bothers me about Maria Sama is the religious overtones. They can't make out because Maria Sama is watching them! XD

@Bubblelum: I did not know where else to put this poll, and besides, they both fall under the same category. All girl's catholic school with shoujo ai/yuri. Except, one has more fanservice than the other. How is it unfair?

both equally ^^
they're pretty different, in the way that SP is more dramatic and has more fanservice (which i like), and Marimite has more story and developing relationships (which i also like!). so, i like them both. it really depends if i'm in a mood for yuri or not, because Marimite doesn't nearly have as much yuri as SP

I love both.

Actually, I love any show where yuri is implied, but it seems my fixation on lesbians only carries on to fictional settings.

Well for me
I prefer Marimite to SP
Coz Marimite's story is more complicated and more attractive I guess
Hahahaha...
That's my opinion
O, one more thing
I love Marimite's chara
Hehe...
