I don't think it was intentional. Harsh penalty and a harsh free kick. Unlucky Croatia.

From my point of view the hand clearly goes to the ball and therefore was intentional.

Our commentator was on fire calling the first free kick a mistake that should never have happened. I'm not sure what he is on but if there was no contact between the two players that resulted in the French player falling then I'm Beckenbauer.

All in all an entertaining match so far that hopefully continues in the second half.

Jesus just because you're up 4-1 doesn't mean you as the keeper gets to ignore a player challenging you inside your own fucking box.

Congratulations French....Looks like better tactics overall. Not as physical a game as Croatia but better positioning

Viva La Franxx!!

Now better the French team watch out for the next World Cup in 4.5 years from now.

I mean to watch out for the curse, since they crowned themselves champions in this World Cup.

I was only discovering football as a teenager back in 1998 when I saw France winning it. Today, I could fully enjoy the party in the streets of Montreal like a real man, chanting and dancing everywhere.

Little fact I just saw: today's scoreline was the first time since 1966 that the World Cup final had 6 goals scored during the match. Back in 1966, 2 goals (although one remains controversial to this day) were scored in extra time.

Congrats to France. I feel bad for England since had they won against Croatia, the final match would have become the next Agincourt or Waterloo and might won the World Cup.

There are actually a number of great shots of Macron celebrating like your casual fan (which I think is great). This one obviously is the best.
