Seems like Little Busters's expansion had some small but significant additions. It's kinda like Starcraft: Brood War! Saya can be like the Dark Templar (really cool new flashy type who's in the shadows), Kanata the Corsair (cool personality and serves as support) and Sasami is like the Devourer (Nobody gives a fuck).

Kanata isn't so popular among English fandom mostly because people haven't play EX and they have only seen her nasty side in Haruka's route.
She's more popular among Japanese(from my personal experience,she's already quiet well-liked even before EX release) and rank 10th in the last Key's character poll.
So in term of popularity in Little Busters!,she only lost to Saya,Kud,Kyosuke,Rin and beat everyone else.

Yea, I seem to find it odd that Saya would be so popular given she only appears in an expansion. Given her tendency to be fighting at night or something I'd imagine she's along the lines of the heroine Little Busters needs, but not the one it deserves or something...

Also is the theme song slightly remixed in that trailer?

Really? I never understood why so many people hated her. It was clear the moment she helped Kud with the room, that she is not as bad as everyone might think. Then there also were those small dialogues between her and Riki which indicated that she was not bad.

And then there was her confession in Haruka's route... I did not play EX and have no idea what her route is about but that confession and several other scenes in between were enough for me to feel bad for her more than for Haruka.

She acted the way she acted because they told her they would murder Haruka if she didn't act that way. I haven't seen all that many signs of people holding it against her. For that matter, there's plenty of fanart out there for her, so she doesn't really seem to be unpopular.

I was just half joking about the bench but yeah,there are people who doesn't like what she did to bench-kun(mostly VN players because it's hard to feel anything for bench-kun in the anime).

The major problem is that the anime portrayed Kanata's actions in a very less favorable light (for instance, the identity switch for the cakes made people think she wanted to steal Riki, whereas she tried to made Riki give up for real in the game).

Yuri and Saya are quite different, and Yuri is more or less "fine" over there, whereas Saya is the major LB heroine, even beating Kudo (which is a feat by itself when you consider how Kudo is insanely popular).

It's kind of tricky. The anime inserted more blatant "hey, she's not really as bad as she's acting" clues than the game, while the game had several more subtle clues to that effect that you could miss if you weren't careful.

Did you play her route? Becase if not, then I don't think you have much right to say that... Saya is one of the most popular heroines in Little Busters. That is already regarded as one of the best characters ever by Key. It's her story, her character, her situation, and her very own ending song that makes her so popular. I still frequent niconico and all I can say is: Forget Saya, I don't think I can even see Yuri even beating Kud, Fuuko, or Kanade right now... Only time will tell when the Angel Beats visual novel is realeased that will give more expansion to her story. Also Kanade's popularity is on the same level as Fuuko's and Rin's. Welp I'm just basing this on what I witness everyday, so I can be wrong since I can't witness everything.

ps; I'm only viewing this at a eastern fanbase standpoint, not a foreign/western one.

Just discovered the Little Busters EX 4koma. Has anybody read it, and is it a decent adaptation of the Visual Novel? Considering reading it before the Anime airs.

4-koma is a what-if comedy manga that isn't really follow the VN,I don't think it gonna spoil anything for EX.

Oh, can I hope for EX to portray any of that?

Just curious but what exactly does Kanata's route cover? Is it her confession form Haruka's route but in more detail?
