Well my cousin told me to watch "GTO" If you cant find that then they are probably calling it Great Teacher Orizaku or something like that.
Its about a guy who wants to be a highschool teacher so he can look at girls. Very funny but the first few chapters/episodes r slow so i would suggest skipping a couple. Hope this helps.. |

Kannagi. I think funny would be the right word to describe this series. great and unique character that will make you laugh no matter what they do.
Taishou Yakyuu Musume. Overall a very enjoyable series. if I can describe the show, it's about girls trying to learn how to play baseball. there's a very funny sequence right at the beginning of the first episode. you should definitely check it out, just for that... |

I'll definitely give a third to Natsu no Arashi, but I also feel it is a dangerous show to recommend, since you might get turned off early.
I'll also give another recommendation for School Rumble. It's my favourite comedy (with romance sub-plot) show. Heck it's my favourite show period. Definitely a set of great characters. I'll also support recommendations for Seto no Hanayome and Hayate no Gotoku. Great comedies with memorable characters. However I should mention I never liked comedies like Azumanga Daioh or Pani Poni Dash, so.... yea.... Also I wouldn't recommend Toradora! for your specific suggestion. Toradora!'s more of a romantic drama with comedic elements. It can get heavy. Not to say you shouldn't watch it, but it doesn't really fit your suggestion criteria. Throwing in something different, you might like Baka to Test to Shoukanjou, which is funny, not much of a plot, but not really memorable characters either.

Many good choices here, but I'm going to have to third Mitsudomoe because this series is criminally underrated. It's been getting funnier every week, but with the latest ep it reached an apotheosis. Now it's high art in addition to hilarious comedy.

I support recommendations for Arakawa Under the Bridge (seriously, watch it, it's hilarious), Mitsudomoe,Seitokai no Ichizon, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (it's not THAT dark...), Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi, and Suzumiya Haruhi-chan.

Try "Pani Poni Dash!". Somehow, it felt ridiculously similar to me. In more than a couple of ways (though it's a little more extreme, making fun of stuff like mecha and aliens). You know, actually...think of it as Azumanga with Chiyo-chan as a homeroom teacher.
Here, a sneak peek. Quote:

Another vote for fumoffu, its bloody hilarious especially if you've seen some of the other material to get references and in jokes and know the characters.
The funniest out of all the recommendations in this thread I've seen. Far funnier than school rumble for example its got no overall plot as well so fits slice of life.

Start by the big three:
Great Teacher Onizuka, Seto no Hanayome and School Rumble. Then proceed to Full Metal Panic Fomuffu, Golden Boy (some nudity!), Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Hayate no Gotoku, Maria†Holic. More recently you have Seitokai Yakuin-domo, B Gata H Kei and the seasons best: Mitsudomoe. These are the ones I can remember. |
