Yes, you can't dislike the Yuuno from Arigatou Sheitarou's series of oneshots, he was the perfect villain for the perfect angst! I really liked the character; it was the most human Yuuno I have ever seen

Class rushed past, and soon break time had arrived. I sat back with a sigh as Lowran-sensei left the classroom. While I am fairly good at it, English was one strange language. Hard to pronounce, and what was with all those ‘the’s? Lowran-sensei had fortunately decided to cut me some slack on my first day and hadn’t called on me to answer questions.

A small tap on my shoulder drew my attention back to Yagami-san. “So, you want to eat lunch in the cafeteria or in the classroom?” She asked me.

“Uhm…” I answered as I thought about it. “Well, I’d like to eat here, I don’t know much about my class yet, and I think this is a good way to get to know them.”

“Good thinking.” Yagami-san said as she unpacked her own lunch. “And since I’m the closest person here, Yagami Hayate, pleased to meet you.” She said with a small seated bow.

“I see you still make friends as easy as ever.” A new voice spoke from behind me.

“Fate-chan!” I exclaimed happily as the blonde hired girl pulled an abandoned chair over so she could sit at my desk.

“Nan ya, you two know each other?” Yagami-san said in surprise, her kansai dialect even more obvious.

“Yes, Nanoha and I are childhood friends, even though we never went to the same school together, we lived in the same neighbourhood, so we always played together.”

“Well now, that’s a story Fate-chan hadn’t told me yet. You have to tell me about that, or you’ll make me feel left out.” She said jokingly, making the two of us chuckle.

“Well, before that, could you finish telling me a bit more about yourself Yagami-san?”

Yagami-san waved her hand dismissively. “Hayate is enough. If Fate-chan knows you well enough to let you call her by first name, then I won’t be the outsider. I’ll just have to get to know you better so I can call you Nanoha-chan.” She said with a smile.

…

She really has a warm smile; it makes you feel really welcome.

“So, about me, I’m Yagami Hayate. I currently live not too far from here with my family. We’re.. sort of a strange bunch. My real parents passed away some time ago, and my new family is more like a gathering of acquaintances who decided to live together. I do love them a lot, though. They’ve been taking care of me for some time now. You might run in to them some time here, Shamal works here as the school nurse. Probably to keep an eye on me.

I blinked. “An eye on you?” I queried.

“Ahah.” Hayate rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment. “To tell you the truth, I’ve been getting myself into a bit of trouble. You see, my legs never worked since they day I was born, but recently recovered, and now I can walk again.” She said happily.

“You didn’t recover completely, Hayate, you’re still recovering.” Fate admonished her friend.

“Ahaha” Hayate laughed again before ending with a sigh. “Fate-chan is right. I recovered mostly, but because my legs never worked before, I have to be very careful not to overtax them. That’s why I’m carrying these crutches.” She said as she gestured to said crutches.

“I see…” I wondered what else had to be said. I’m sorry? You did good? I was shaken out of my thought as I noticed Hayate looking at me, as if she was searching for something.

“Uhm… Hayate?”

Almost immediately the smile returned to her face. “So, what are your plans for today Nanoha-chan?”

… Already calling me Nanoha-chan?

“I don’t really know, I was thinking of dragging some details out of Fate-chan concerning that boyfriend she couldn’t stop talking about the past month.” I said while sending a glare at my friend, who suddenly found the blackboard to her right very interesting.

“Heeh? You mean Kha? He’s a nice guy. Fate got lucky with him. Anyway, if you’re interested I could show you the good spots around the school.”

“I’ll think about it.”

Lunch period ended, and classes continued. As the class ended, and the students went home, I thought about what I could do. Fate-chan had slipped away when I wasn’t paying attention, and Hayate was packing her final things.

A: I have to track down Fate-chan. She is not getting out of this one.
B: Hayate offered to tour me around the school, maybe I should accept.
C: I could always go exploring on my own, hayate did say I could choose.
D: I’m done with school, I’ll just go to my room.

Satshi, that's a very interesting comment, and I read fanfics, for the same reason I play the Super Robot Wars games/play RTS games. I like seeing things I know taken down different paths. I love the crossovers {Domon Kashu meets Shinji and teaches him the ways of the Undefeated of the East! Nanoha becomes a Card Captor! Zengar Songvolt is Fate's Father!} but enough of my cracked brain!

On to the Review.

Hmm. We get a dressing down, as expected, but it ends up good. I like that, and it shows up the family relationships. Her family seems supportive, but you are building a confrontation. Good job with the tension and ominous foreshadowing. A nice addition of a meme. I as they say "lol'd". Fate caught ...er what do females call it... ...Using toys... by her mother. Always fun, and nice and awkward. I swear at times I feel like the Yuuno around my female Friends... Enough, stay on topic, Fate playing WOW, is fun, and brings her more to the human side of things.

Fate using batteries... That feels like a good SNL skit, and is great humor. The meta-reference to Arf is always welcome, and in a way, its sort of like "The Gang is almost all here". The ad composition, is surprisingly, like something out of Cosmo... (I hang around fashion majors, all right?) and Yuuno is roped into doing hair, poor boy. Well done, and it establishes the interaction between Nanoha and fate yet again.

I love how you play out the obvious gender issues with Fate, and her personal character. She is defined by, tries to escape from, and loves her Twin in this, and it really shows, even with her Obi-Wanesque appearance earlier in the tale.

Sterotypical dance Time! As I have said, the interactions are natural. Most couples are awkward as the day is long the first time around. This case, with Nanoha nearly rejecting Fate, I felt at the edge of my Dell! Suzaka and Hayate were a nice team up here. Well done

Hi Mom! I'm Gay,
Well we have the drop off scene, and Satashi plays it off well. To conclude this review, we have the final scene, Fate and her mother talking. We end with Fate's thoughts, and this was a wonderful way to end this. Fate is a nice girl, embracing her sexuality with a confidence that many youths cannot, tragically. Nanoha is struggling, but just like one of my favorite characters says, "With Teamwork, one can turn 1% into 100%," and Hayate and Suzaka prove their roles. I

This fanfiction has been one of the more enjoyable fanfictions that I have read. Please supply more.

In other news, question to the general fanfic thread: Opinions on 14-year old Vivio? My current drawup of her in the OC seems well enough, but I thought another opinion from a fairly different group of people would be nice as well XD.

Kagerou, She seems almost like RyKuOh,Fighting wise, and her character seems quite interesting. She seems only able to express herself through her fists... Nice DBZ reference. I did not expect little Vivio to grow up and become a excellent fighter, with Fin Funnels.. The Sword that cleaves evil, and now melee attacks? Its a nice basic profile, and Would you happen to have more stories on how she became this... fighter?

And Nanoha was the first to answer the call. "Takamachi here," she spoke. "Oh, it's the bakery shop. The cake's ready? Alright. I'll come by there and take it tomorrow. How would you like the payment to be made? Cash? Alright, then. I'll take note. Yes. Thank you."

She hung up. Two weeks from now it would be Valentine's Day. She had not planned anything yet for the long-anticipated day, except taking Fate for a surprise party. And that party, she thought, would involve lots of intimate moments she did not dare to spoil to her most precious treasure.

"Mama?"

She looked at the source of the voice. The girl with dual-coloured eyes always made her smile, somehow. "Yes, Vivio?" she asked and invited her to sit on her lap.

"You look kind of dreamy," Vivio asked.

Nanoha laughed and playfully patted the girl's head. "Nah. Just thinking of something special this month," she told her.

"Is it birthday?"

Nanoha shook her head. "It's more important than birthday. Well, of course birthday isn't that unimportant but..." She shyly smiled and brushed her hair off her face. "It's very special for me."

Vivio blinked. "Then what will it be?"

Nanoha poked Vivio's nose. "That's a secret, Vivio dear," she reminded. "I'll tell you when the day comes, okay?"
