The anime isn't supposed to be an adaptation of the manga at all. It has its own spin about the franchise, and most manga don't even follow a common setup either.

Nope. This isn't based on any of the print media, and the screenplay was done entirely for the anime. So no Ensign Akai, no Vice Admiral Aosaki, no ship girls getting eaten or blown in half (yet!)...

Gosh, almost forgot about this. According to this post from the Bahamut forums, the anime's opening lines (by the narrator Mdm Sakakibara) comes from the Gosei, which was used in the IJN's Naval Academy and remains in use by the JMSDF. The title for episode 2, "悖らず、恥じず、憾まず", may also be derived from it as well.

Even a lady has different priorities in battle, I guess, and they still didn't show anything, unlike many of the big girls.

Oh, that's an interesting detail. Kancolle is surprisingly full of those.

Thanks. First article second picture was definitely missing on this thread (or rather the anticipation one), so not surprising it went under the radar.
I requested sources considering all the screwed up information we got at times, and also the fact the "type of episodes" list is a bit messed up (1st episode was listed as SOL, second as combat, despite 1st is obviously a mixture of both unless it was typed in a rush).

Second article gives a large grasp of the anime in general as in 1 cour, more than 30 ships, Zuikaku etc, which we already discussed in the previous thread, so that's fine.

Coming into this show with no knowledge of the game other than the hype behind it and countless of doujins, i didn't know what to expect other than cute girls and combat. Did i get what i expected? Yes. And I was satisfied with it. I wasnt expecting this level of animation from this studio, specially when they are producing 3 other anime this season. I'm glad all their budget is going on this one. The cg and the 2d blend in so well with each other and im usually the type of guy who would hate on cg.

I ran into a wall because I had no idea what I was doing. My friend saved me, explained the general mechanics, and currently I play bit by bit everyday lol.

I haven't read the doujins or anything like that. Fanart is fine enough for me.

It's fun seeing the game come to life. I'm glad they showed off how absurd the concept can be. In a good way. It was easy to recommend a watch to others.

Great fan service for players of the game, really like the first ep. especially the part where the girls are getting equipped was pretty cool although maybe a bit over the top how kaga and akagi got their equip.
But i every time i saw akagi i thought something was off or missing and i finally got what it is, she wasn't eating anything the whole episode.

I can't tell if this Admiral is competent for sending a Level 1 Destroyer in an event(?) boss mission. xD. And for a Mogami that got damaged from a I-class, must be level 10 off the dot. xD

I believe the admiral's competence is unimportant. Not only does he destroy the enemy base on the first attempt without entering night battle, level 1 Fubuki also survives it without any scratches. And the worst of it all? He has Nagato and I don't! This is clearly a case of kuso teitoku.

Actually fact is how the I-class is a late model and not the ones that come out in 1-1, so maybe it does somewhat make sense...
