I still don't really understand why people in the United States are so uptight over sex. A girl blowing someone's crainial matter all over the wall (Gunslinger Girl) is okay, but a girl doing something normal that the majority of girls (and just about every guy on the planet whether he admits it or not) do makes people upset and uncomfortable.

The funniest bit is that the people who call for censorship the most are the people who think that viewers mindlessly mimic that which they see onscreen. While they would hate both Gunslinger Girl and Canvas, if you had to censor one and not the other, which one would you ban? Which one would you rather people mimic? =P (Hint, they don't HAVE to mimic Canvas, people are normally like this, even most of the people who get offended.)

It's okay to have boundaries for what you are comfortable with. I'm not telling anyone they have to watch it... ...but as far as movies go it's really just a nice sweet romance story. ;-;

(FYI, it carries a rating for age 15 and up (15-kin, sometimes called R-15, and is more or less equivalent to the rating of the same name in British Commonwealth countries, and could be considered to be somewhere between PG-13 and R in USA MPAA parlance, although content-wise it's more like the USA's R.)

mother fawkin werd. I'm in america, and one night I rented a movie from blockbuster, and it was fucking edited. That was 7 or 8 years go and I havn't been back since. It is kind of pathetic how people try to force there ideals on others. After reading some more here, and finding out that there is an un-edited version out somewhere to DL, Im not really mad anymore, I just have to find the download...

My two cents on it was that the ero scene (atleast the first one) wasn't necessarily there for the sake of ero (like the exuding ecchniess in Green Green). Instead, it had a definite role in the character development, since it shows how isolated the one girl was. Instead of being anywhere near erotic, I think the intention was even tragic. Perhaps I'm looking too deeply into it, but that's what I pulled from it.

I don't really think that you could call this "hentai" but just in case some still doubts that it was edited, there you go. I'm not about to pay to download something though. If it was on DVD I'd just buy it. Maybe someone could send me the file through AIM if the torrent is down. That would be cool.

I don't think there is any one who likes them. I was left frustrated when the SUb i watched appeared to be cut(in the most amateurish(sp?) way possible)... i am not frustrated because i was left without a H scene (god knows there are plenty other things i can watch if i want those)... it is the fact that some damn subber decides that it is ok for him to cut out some part of the original authors work, just because he does not approve of it. I find it simply insulting.

When a subber begins editing out parts that offends them, it leaves the bounds of a Hobby - big time and enters the land of "not your place to edit the original work" -- don't like it? don't sub it, drop it.

@alritza: there is no such censorship as such in what animesuki will provide torrent links for. Their rule is pretty simple: Licensed outside of Japan? They take the linkage down. Nasty letter from MFI because their lawyers win over the marketing people? No linkage to torrents.

Just for non-american readers... not all of America is filled with such hand-wringing "think of the children"/b.s. puritans. They just happen to be extra noisy. Other countries have their packs of "we know what you should see" inquisition mobs as well.

Well the point was that in its original, unedited form it had a questionable scene which was not in accordance with animesuki rules and as such couldn't be listed. I was simply correcting Vexx who wrongly stated there was no such censorship on animesuki.

Does anybody know where one can obtain the real uncut version? I have what it supposed to be the unedited, but it appears both are, EVEN WITH the masturbation scene in the first episode. It already took me ages to download it as the official tracker was down. I confess I am frustrated with the break in the ending of the second part, and I believe that if you cannot handle a portion of a work, you should not bother watching or releasing it at all rather than sanitize it.
