So apparently the anime rumor was indeed true. But the ending turns out to the be the ending of "Part I", with Part II coming sometime in the future (in SJ+). Studio will be MAPPA, whose motto is "if the check clears, we're all ears".

Was gonna read the manga at last, but I suppose I may as well wait now.

One might ask why MAPPA would be a copyright partner if there was no anime. What do they have to do with the manga?

It should be officially announced tomorrow. I'm hoping they get a good director for this, though I'm not sure who I'd want. Chainsaw Man is a pretty unique manga.

I’ve seen some speculation that it could be Yabuta, though it seems to be just guesswork based on his SnK-related comment that he was working on another show. I was hoping that was Vinland S2, and with no disrespect to Chainsaw Man I frankly still am.

I would be much more relaxed if Toho animation is involved in the production of the anime. The anime that has Toho's money usually have a good or acceptable level of production, like: Jujutsu, Boku no Hero, Great Pretender, Dr. Stone and several others.

As good as the team is, if there is no money to spend on production, then it really doesn't matter.
