The spar between Issei and Sairaorg was very fun to watch. The OP also revealed some characters that people have been waiting a long time to see.

It seems we will end getting a second version of the OP for the second half of the cour, tho I wonder if we'll get just new visuals or a whole new opening with new song like with NEW

Not bad this week. I'm starting to get used to the animation now. The TV version I watched was also uncensored so Rias' boobs was all over Issei's face lol. Kyoto, here we come!

What makes you say that? We have the core members in the ED already. The reason why NEW had two endings was because Irina had to be removed and Gasper was added in.

I don't count a certain someone as a core member yet.

I'm loving that they have returned to following the light novel faithfully. I'm still getting used to the new art style (admittedly the lowpoint for me was the face Issei made when he was being hugged by Akeno, Koneko, and Asia in bed) but aside from that i enjoyed the true first episode.

On a side note the ED was alright, and the coins flipping all over the place showed Le Fay and Yasaka in addition to Ophis, Kunou, Kiryuu, and Gasper of all people.

Still the OP sequence really feel off to me. Like the scene and rhythm doesn't match at all.

There were to many still shots, visually speaking the OP only got good by the last part with the Issei vs Cao Cao portion and Issei & Rias part

It's just not coordinated like previous ones. They sometimes hire freelance animators and stuff for OPs/EDs, which clearly wasn't the case this time. But it works out just fine because they're clearly focusing more on the actual episodes

Last I checked there's still an animator shortage going on in Japan since fewer and fewer people are entering the industry as of late. It's why Attack on Titan's episode length is shorter in season 2, I'm told.

Apparently everyone got a boobs upgrade, especially Asia. Only Koneko chan got left out. The fight with Sairaorg was good, but he looks hella buffed compared to last season.

The LNs specifically mention that Asia has plenty of "growth" as the story moved on (by recent novel Issei kinda notes she is nearly as big as Xenovia on that part)


Sairaorg is always been buff, Issei comments on that in this fight in the LN as well.


10/10 episode, cleean animation, great fanservice, excellent.

The spar between Issei and Sairaorg was awesome and the echi scene was quite well done as well. I truly love it when Asia suggested Issei to poke Rias's boobs and Sairaorg's reaction for that was so damn satisfying

Loved this episode. The spar between Issei and Sairaorg was fantastic, I can't wait for the rating game. Seeing all the girls dere sere towards Issei heals me for all the series that have a violent tsundere ad main girl. In particular the scene with him and Rias hugging was very sweet.

Damn, that sparring match between Issei and Sairaorg is so awesome. Can't wait for the official rating game in the second half!

By the way, seems that it's not the first time that Koneko-chan tried to use senjutsu on Issei. I remember one of the BorN specials where she almost did that.

She does it on a regular basis after Issei used Juggernaut Drive in order to restore his life force.

Did we get a preview of Kuisha Abaddon in one of the coin in the ending? In first glance I thought it was Jeanne, but after rewatching it she doesn't look the same in the opening. The one wearing like a Tiara thing.(I guess?)
