Just finished this series about a hour ago. Wow, what a great show. There were a decent amount of themes I picked up on. The depth, writing and everything else was spot on. Characters were overall good and the last episode was amazing. I recommend this anime to everyone.

I am so glad to see some news about Simoun for a change. How I miss being on this side of the forums, which were my first postings in 2007. I am surprised that four years has passed, and the world is in an economic depression. Sobering to say the least.

Now, having said that, I think the only thing they /could/ do is probably do a fluff OVA, kinda like what you see in the manga (lililicious has it on their site). Anything else would probably ruin it... Anyhoo... just my 2p

Thanks for the kind response. If they made a Simoun OVA, the focus should be on Aaeru x Neviril journey to the location where Amuria is. The focus of the story should be about the whereabouts of Amuria after she disappeared in the first episode of the TV show. That OVA would provide closure of Simoun and the origins to the story. It's too bad that they never talked about the origins of the story as to why everyone is born female and who developed the technology to turn girls into men or women without the use of surgical procedure to chance a girl into a boy. |

This is the one thing that I missed about Simoun:
I now believe that PSP game that they release was to have been the second season. Too bad Simoun was never a mass market success like Code Geass. Last edited by darthfury78; 2012-04-23 at 23:46. |

Are there similar anime series like Simoun out there? By the way, I found this blog about Simoun:

Just... no. Very no. Sure, I love Strike Witches, but it's COMPLETELY different from Simoun. Simoun is in a completely different category of anime that most other shows. TBQH, I really can't think of a show off the top of my head that's similar to Simoun...

I just finished the entire show in 3 days, in the middle of my end semester exam of college!! Wtf! I need to control myself.................Anyway, anything's worth a yuri anime with a superb storyline
*sigh* After 150 pages I really don't have anything to say other than what's already been said.
