Well look who's back. I totally expected him to be a one-off side villain in Avengers 2, but it appparently Marvel had bigger plans for him.

I gotta say, I'm not a fan of the music choice for the teaser. I expected a more African traditional music instead of hip-hop/rap/whatever people call it nowadays.
Aside from that, I like the teaser even though the interrogation room sequence feels like TDK-lite.

All I know is that Andy Serkis may have already stolen the movie. It's going to be nice to see him actually on screen in a big budget film, rather than recreated digitally. Still upset he never got an Oscar nom for the Lord of the Rings movies...

The initial responses are really positive, especially from African-American viewers.

Fantastic art direction and costume design, great soundtrack, and quite possibly the most fucking badass women I've ever seen on film.
Special mention for Jordan's Killmonger. It's pretty obvious that MCU villains have been pretty one note and flat since forever, but Killmonger suggests a shift away from this. Hopefully this is a sign of more complex villains to come. This is also the very first time I actually felt bad for the villain in the end.

That was a darn good movie. The story was good, Black Panther is awesome as a character, the villain was really good and it was just a really nice ride.
I do think the MCU villain "problem" is frankly overrated. They've had some nice villains that worked. Doesn't mean that Killmonger isn't one of the best in the whole MCU though. He was well done and very understandable. Movie deserves to be doing as well as it is.
