Looks like Hugtan can summon precure from the past and they are the first ones no less. Hope it won't cause a time paradox.

Spoiler for Mirai Crystals:

Hammy mention they have 8 Mirai crystals to change Hugtan back to normal. I guess that something else is needed. (like a certain amount of asu power is needed).

Watched episode 21:

Another Emiru and Lulu episode. Papple's phone reminds me of the very old phone that my mom used to have.

Anyway, but what really liked is unexpected summoning of Cure Black and Cure White. This has never happened before in precure. A complete surprise, it almost feels like a fanfic. Did Hugtan summon them while the Dark Zone crisis is happening, or after it was solved?

Well that came out of left field. So Hugttan has the power to open dimensional rifts? Is she the source for all the precure crossover films? Talk about just making clear how crazy powerful she is. Time stop? Sure. Summoning a precure army if she so chooses? Apparently so.

I'm honestly surprised how much I like how they've handled Lulu and Emiru. Oh sure I expected Lulu to become a precure. But I didn't expect Emiru would become one when we first met her nor did I expect how well these two would work as a tandem.

Next episode should be interesting to put it lightly.

Emiru and Lulu's relationship is still wonderful, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. We've even got Hana shipping them now!

Seeing Cure Black and Cure White fight is a treat, especially as it emphasizes how very different and much more intense their combat style is compared to the modern Cures.

I got some major Suite Precure vibes from Emiru and Lulu's new attack. Also, the music for that attack is great. There haven't been many precure series since Suite that made me think "now this is a great soundtrack," but this track at least has cleared my threshold of awesome.

Finally... how about that ED, folks?! That's the Futari wa Pretty Cure OP, bringing in a massive crossover dance with every Cure in the franchise! That's the sort of thing I want out of the movies: seeing all the girls come together just invokes a feeling of nostalgia and awesomeness that is hard to beat.

Watched episode 22:

Amazing episode. Glad to see Nagisa and Honoka in a regular episode again... even if they are just guests for one ep. Nagisa voice is still the same.. but Honoka's voice changed a bit, I guess it's just her VA getting a little older - but that's ok. What's important is I saw and hear them again.

How nice.. Lulu and Emiru both have a guitar now. ^^

10/10 for this one.

Hmm, that girl from solitary confinement... just a speculation, she might be also an android like Lulu - she occupies the same place in the opening where Lulu used to be.

And lastly... did not expect precure to also tackle the serious issue about bullyiing, looks like Hana experienced it in the past. Hopefully, they show more details on it in the next episodes.

This week's episode was by far the most story-heavy, but GOD I wished the animation and direction wasn't so bland in its execution.

You are aware that Pretty Cure is a franchise for children partly made to get them to ask their parents to buy the toys featured in the show that has been running for almost two decades with well over 700 episodes and that bullying has been brought up numerous times over course of its run right? This supposed lack of awareness is unbelievable and yet here we are.

I'm aware it's for selling toys. And I also have some precure toys.

Anyway, where has bullying at school featured in other precure franchises? I've finished most except KiraKira and Happiness Charge.

Emiru and Lulu refusing to let their concert be interrupted and effectively kicking Gelos' butt with music was freaking awesome. It does make me wonder how many songs Toei had made for these two. Usually performer characters in shows like this only get one or two songs that seem to make up the entirety of their repertoire throughout the whole show. Past Precure series have even repurposed OPs and EDs for that.

Hana's been fighting to stay cheerful despite trauma like that. I give her credit for her effort, but she'd probably be better off talking to someone to try to work this out. I get that she's trying to keep up her friends' morale in the face of what happened last time, but she's going to break if this doesn't get dealt with.

Wow, surprsingly good episode Emiru and Ruru not give up, they removed the toge power with music!

And nice seeing previous villains have a new chance at life. Saaya was able to save Daigan after all. I just wonder if Ruru, Charaleet, Papple, and Daigan can still do the "Hope for the future disappear. Negative wave!!" thing? Well, they turned good now, probably won't do it anymore even if they still have the power to summon oshimaeda.
