I just wanted to see Fist of the North Star cause I thought some of the guys were hot. But then I found out there's vast amounts of blood. So EW on them. lol

Correction: There is no blood in the TV series, or atleast the vast ammounts aren't done red. It's done white.

The Movie on the otherhand is an unreasonable bloodbath and wonderful too

I heard Blood was red the first time they shown it on TV in the 70's.. It apparently made some kinda scandal at the time so they had to stop it from airing. That happend in Europe though ^^

This is unrelated, but I just love how Excel Saga parodies Fist of the North Star in one of its later episodes (I think something after 20). Excel battles it out with those ugly big faced doll thingies that use those star staffs (I'm sure this is referencing something to, and I've seen it before on TV, just don't remember what it is) with gatling gun type punches and kicks, and after they get hit the enemies heads and bodies explode into white or black chunks. LOL, I just love that stuff...

Aw, that makes me want to watch Excel Saga again. I also like in that one epiosde of GTO where Onizuka draws the holes on his chest and then beats up some guys, funny stuff.

Hokuto no Ken: How many episode are licensed?

Is the full anime licensed?
Because the last dvd came out 11/25/2003 :

If the anime isn't fully licensed, I think animesuki should start listing fansubs of this wonderful anime.

As per envirosphere's research:
Episodes 1-36 are licensed and commercially available from Manga Entertainment (More info available on envirosphere's series page.) Manga has just lost the license.

In this case, why doesn't animesuki list 37+ fansubs?

As per Anime News Network (down the page a bit), Manga don't have the license to FotNS at all anymore.

It is still commercially available in the stores if you look. This does not suddenly mean it is okay to sub it or list subs from 1-36.

True enough. Though as someone who does own the legitimate release, I sure would like a version with the original opening theme :\

The thing is, there are fansubs till up till like 78, so I think 37+ should get listed...
This anime needs more attention, it's awesome, and yet just half licensed, and not many seems to know about it...

Talk about your topic resurrections. I've been watching this again and just finished part 2. How is it that Rei's fate has more of an impact on me than most supposed tragic anime like the Key stories? I guess it's the sense of finality to it and just how much he gave of himself in order to be recognized as the follower of the Justice Star. This shows so incredibly melodramatic at times, but the end of this arc is really well done. Sometimes Toei knows just how to tug at the heartstrings with their warbly trumpet music and big bombastic soliloquy's in their adaptations...god knows they do it in One Piece all the time.

I've been reading the manga, and I am in tankobon #4 now. Is there an anime version?

I am sorry, I just realized this was a thread for the anime in particular.
