Is it ever explained why Hinako's light cut off/made the blazes weaker and why it power Sifi up or did it just unlock her potential? either way kinda sucks for Korou
What happend i thought Korou and Lars were OP even if they weren't of the 7 generals lv now we find out 2nd and 3rd years can give them a run for their money and a couple humans are strong enough to pressure Korou,next thing you know they'll have tough fight with male swordie

There's a lot of stuff still unanswered. At volume 9, I still do not know much about Hinako's powers. It has been a while but I recall that Hinako's light affects anyone else who uses light, so it isn't just the Blazes. As for why that is the case, that's just the nature of her powers as the Maiden of the Sun. The role of the Maiden of the Sun hasn't really been explained thoroughly yet.

There was a dream by Sefi showing the previous (the dream described the two girls looking a lot like an older version of Hinako and Sefi) Maiden of the Sun and the Portal Priestess standing within Tokyo with the entire city in ruins. This was five years after the great war started and the armies were getting wiped out from battle, however a new force entered the world from Swordia through the portals. Not only did Swordies and Blazes go to earth, another crisis arrived on earth which nearly wiped out everyone. The Maiden of the Sun just woke up from a 1 year slumber from overusing her power and met up with the Portal Priestess once again. The slumber was caused from overuse of her powers and I speculate this is due to the use of life force as well.

The Maiden of the Sun decided that she only had the strength to solve one crisis and that the Swordies were the lesser of two evils living on earth. However, this task was more difficult than forcibly removing the Swordies with portal summons (which she was capable of doing at the time) and she paid the price with her life, even with the Portal Priestess assisting her. Quite a sad ending. There's just a general gist of the two of them playing a big role in maintaining peace between earth and swordia, hence their compatibility with each together. In the past, the Portal Priest was a Swordie, the Maiden of the Sun was a human, and they were great friends, just like how it is playing out in the present. So this isn't just some random occurrence that led to Sefi getting a boost in power, there's a lot of history between the two. Still, much of it is a mystery.

They are definitely still OP. You have to remember that Kurou doesn't go into light body mode and uses his ultimate moves on everyone. Without that, he wouldn't stand a chance against Seven Swords, which would basically put him at "sword princess" level imo. Actually, it would be a little lower than that since don't forget he is still as frail as a human. He also can't handle the 1 vs. many situation as well as the swordies, which may have been the case at school.

If you are referring to english translations, I'm afraid there won't be any past vol 2 unless someone else picks it up.
