Tokyo Revengers is getting an anime by Liden Films according to YonkouProductions.

Plot

Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was just killed by a villainous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a crappy apartment with thin walls, and his six-years-younger boss treats him like an idiot. Plus, he's a complete and total virgin … At the height of his rock-bottom life, he suddenly time-leaps twelve years back to his middle school days!! To save Hinata, and change the life he spent running away, hopeless part-timer Takemichi must aim for the top of Kanto's most sinister delinquent gang!!

From what I recall of the manga,

Something like that; although she's not The Significant Focus of the story (she's significant though). A lot of the story focuses on gang warfare and fighting - plus a investigative mystery element as MC gradually uncovers more info on what caused the gang to turn evil in its later years. Not to mention the manga and its twists are still ongoing as of this post.

I assume because the protagonist is hoping he can finally go all the way with his girlfriend this time around while also saving her life .

Frankly speaking, from around 10 predictions YonkouPro posted recently, about 4 got denied, 3 or 4 confirmerd and the remeining ones are still up in the air.

There was the infamous Dragon Ball Super fiasco, where he said the show is coming back, even with a date, but nothing have happened. Then when he got the L barrage from the people for it, he went passive aggressive, when he was the one responsible for hyping people up.

It's obvious he has connections, but he is not always accurate. Act-Age obviously will get an anime at some point, which he also "leaked", then the recent announcement is just a stage play.
