[Manga] What are Itachi's real motives involving Naruto and Sasuke?
Itachi at times seems to show a great deal of respect for naruto, he spared his brother from his sword, and now it seems that he is secretly meeting with naruto with kisame no where in sight. What are his true intentions?

First of all the question to answer is!, is really Itachi the responsible one to have killed his entire clan.
If he is not, than he is definitely not evil. Remember when he came to fight with Kurenai? He could have killed her in an instant, but just was more toying around with her. |

That is THE point!
If he was the one who killed almost his entire clan, the reason for it surely wouldn't be just to test his skills. That is just a weak lie imo!. Almost a complete contradiction to his saying: "We came here not to start a war". I mean he could also go and test whether he can kille Kakashi easily, so it makes no sense at all at the moment. At that time he already obtained the Mangekyou Sharingan, so he has known for sure he would be the strongest out of all his entire clan. Test his skill? No way. |

Well, he also mentions that no one other then an uchiha would be able to defeat him with " these eyes" effectively killing off all of those who over years of hard work might be able to obtain MS and stop him. He might have possibly left sasuke alive only for reasons involving his true intentions required him to. But you do raise a questionable point.
