Hmm the latest counterpart of the celestials is just full on messed up. They are fully reliant on cosmic energy and therefore are all super robot style tech. Meaning it makes no sense.

The enemy's astro switches are different from Fourze and Tabane's in that they are powering themselves with those miniature blackholes complimented by ambient cosmic energy. Where as the former pair only have models which are reliant on the surrounding ambient cosmic energy, more so with Tabane's versions.

Enemy switches include:

Black Box: this is a switch which causes a transformation of the user. It makes them a monstrous being composed of darkmatter. This form is their ideal form, or at least the beginnings of it. Considered the most powerful switch in their arsenal.

Rifle: Creates a rifle that fires solid Astrium rounds which can even cause IS to flinch.

Other than black box, other switches may cause highly compatible people to change "states" or transform. Their body takes on the properties of the tool and they gain a better tool compliment because of it.

Well, it appears cloning is not very rare in the world of IS:/ Explains Kuu's similarities to Laura, at least.

On a side note, I have a really bad tendency to make my character's "knife nuts" despite modern fire-arms being better suited for the task. Kazuma, Celeste, Saito, and especially Irish are prime examples.

I'm losing either way, I really, REALLY don't want to use canon portrayal, but character nerfing is not pretty sight either. Now my brain hurts due to dilemma.

Well, I'm boned: Apparently Kuu is Laura's sister or is at the very least heavily related to Laura's creation. Chifuyu even makes a big deal about the two of them meeting. Problem being, Laura and Kuu share multiple scenes in Future Imperfect and neither takes specific note of the other.

Either I have to ignore this or make a blatant retcon. #%^*!

And what do you mean by nerf?

Funny thing, at least I can use Celeste too. This makes three Super Soldiers with different allegiance.

Nerfing means weakening a character for the sake of gameplay or plot.

CatwomanChifuyu will not be there, she WILL use Armored Stratos or a Terrestrial Dreamer, and start piling up junk MPIS of the Phantom Task rather than soloing an I.S. with fethisized spy suit. On foot she's still screwed.

As for me, i'm good with cake eater. Chifuyu being flexible swordswoman, Maya being a bullet fairy. Now all I need to fix is Tabane. Though considering here she's more neutral here than in canon guess I'm good too.

The only problem I have is how people will react to Erine.

Once again, it's a case of misaimed fandom, especially for those that didn't read the novel (or not read properly).

I didn't hate her......till the whole missile incident thing was revealed. She took a REALLY big gamble there. One missile missed and the conflict could have escalated into world war III. I dislike people who play with lives as though they're variables.

Well, Tabane didn't show up till V3 anyway. I myself was fooled until the last episode, mind you I'm reading HotM back then... there's outside influence.

HOTM is not canon. Tabane outright confirms that it would take a "Genius" to hack all those missiles. And knowing how giant her ego in her intelligence is, would she call anybody but herself a genius?

Hence my surprise, it's less about what canon and what's not, but more along indirect subconscious fanon influence (you might notice how many mistake I made when addressing canon back then)

Rain made HotM with anime in mind, and his version of Tabane already fleshed out before final episode even roll.

Then I read novel, and it was apparent that Tabane is anything BUT likeable. Izuru even flat out call her stupid, in a sense.

Hnn, good thing I decided to stick with the short story scenarios for IS. Seriously, I can't tell what the author is doing. He's gonna lose a lot of readers if he's just relying on his artist to keep interest in his books...

A Cat(suit) Chifuyu is fine too - I can use her in an AU setting. Dat ass is a terrible, terrible thing to waste.

"Ah, tadaima," she answered, pulling out the small band holding her hair in a ponytail. Shaking her head from side to side to free her hair, she detached the small headset and placed it on the counter. "Did the client receive the package?"

"Yep. Payment's already collected in our Trimen account," the male voice answered from the next room over. He sounded quite pleased. "You were awesome tonight again. I was getting worried when that high-spec tank drone came out."

"Pfft," Chifuyu scoffed. "Have more faith in your big sister you idiot," she said with no real anger in her voice.

"Hai hai~" came the easy reply. "I have the bath already prepared for you. Take it easy tonight, I'll finish up the details of our next job for you."

Chifuyu walked to where her younger brother was typing away at the terminal, several screens open to different windows. Due to her 'unique status', he was forced to pretty much care for her even though she was the elder sibling. He didn't even give a start as she draped her arms around his shoulders, holding him tightly. "You're the best brother ever," she whispered to him, resting her head against his.

"Only because I have the best big sister in the world," he replied, covering her hand with his own. The two of them stayed like that for a while before she stood up again and went to take her bath. "Our next job will be in Argentina. Tabane-nee said that the Habeneros Corp has been skimping out of details in their reports to her company. She wants all the info and evidence that they're keeping the projects that she banned still operating within their facilities."

"That Tabane...working us like we're her pets."

"We still owe her for the operations, Chifuyu-nee."

"Yeah, yeah, I know," Chifuyu resisted the urge to touch her right eye - the one that wasn't real. Hell, half of her wasn't real by this point. She was the first of Shinomono Industrial's first cyborg implant test subjects. Her little brother was the second. Doomed to this life because of a careless mistake...and now, they will all pay the price.
