Read some of this manga's earlier and mid chapters again, and it's amazing that there's pretty much no filler at all. The manga, from the first chapter, has been advancing the plot continuously for 69 chapters straight without pause. Most manga will probably be more than half-filler, with some plot development laid out in arcs, but Sekirei's been arc after arc non-stop.

It's almost like the mangaka doesn't have to think about what comes next. She's probably planned out the whole series well in advance of actually starting it, or it was one of her pet projects in the past before she got picked up by the magazine.

Impressive, really.

Actually, based on the hint at the earlier chapters, she really seem to plan ahead.. or at least got a general direction to follow tru.

And what i like most is that she dropped subtle hints here and there.. easiest one to see was chapter 3.. All Minato's sekirei was on display (thus we can really say it a matter of time before Akitsu joins) Then, further along the chapter.. I dont remember which chapter, Takami showed us a pic of her and Minato and Yukari, only to be revealed at the end of the bridge arc. Then Minato - Minaka relation, first their name, then Kazehana drop a hint that Minato really resembled her unrequite lover, only to find out that she used to lust over Minaka There are probably more, but it probably brushed off as unimportant or simply gone unnotice, until it revealed later on that made you go OH SHI- I remembered this bits before D:

aside from akitsu being winged and minaka being minato's father, are there other subtle hints given before that hasn't happened yet?

Can you even wing a sekirei that has already been winged in the first place? For one thing, we don't see ashikabi stealing sekirei from other rivals. In fact, the winging of the last remaining unwinged ones is almost like a race between ambitious ashikabi, as can be seen during Kuu and Homura's arcs.

Or does the fact that Akitsu is not numbered make her a special case? Perhaps the reason why she's considered to be a reject is because she cannot be truly winged, which could also possibly mean not having the ability to pray during battle, and thus also considered to be "defective". How about Miya, whose ashikabi is already deceased? She isn't listed by the MBI to be one of the unwinged ones, but can she still be winged if she chooses to?

Maybe we missed it, but after Tanaka revealation, I started to get interest and check for any other subtle hint.. but it so subtle I've missed all but those 3 rofl

Akitsu was a disused product and considered a danger, while she cant be wing anymore (as far as the info that we are given) I think she will still join up the family XD

We ave to wait for Matsu's explaination next chapters.. probably take some chapters tho :/

Is it possible matsu is in fact an element using sekirei? I'm pretty sure she admitted that even she's gonna get involved in the fighting in the next round. And she's a single digit sekirei which is where the wind, fire, light, darkness and water sekirei could be found.

To me, she's either the support or maybe the healer of the group, but one solid hit and it looks like she'll be out for the remainder of the battle. She can be effective, but she's also still too young. Good thing her power affects plant growth.

In terms of power, Kazehana is the strongest right? Well, maybe Musubi with Yume's power is stronger, but in a normal situation I mean.

I think her power's going to be more sophisticated than just an element; it fits more with her character.

I've always wondered how she got all that equipment in her room; pretty sure it'd be really hard to go out and buy all of that without MBI noticing; plus they've yet to trace her back to the Izumo house with all the hacking she's been doing.

Which has lead me to a theory:

that her power could be like that of Yukari of Touhou; either wormholes or teleportation of some kind. Instead of using the internet to hack MBI, if she's instead been maintaining a stable wormhole between the Izumo house and MBI headquarters, then she could potentially hack their systems all they want without them being able to trace her back. It could also explain another reason why she can't go too far from the Izumo house, because she has to maintain a connection between the Izumo house and MBI headquarters in order to hack their systems and use their satellites and such.

In terms of power, Kazehana is the strongest right? Well, maybe Musubi with Yume's power is stronger, but in a normal situation I mean.

She's the most experienced so far, along with Homura, but strongest is yet to be really grasped. Tsukiumi's gone a long way from Water Festivaling people in the beginning to that sword of hers in the bridge arc.

And with the element of wind, there's so many techniques she can use (and potential).

on the kagari gender: what if the author just decides to ignore ever revealing his/her gender?
