That's a pretty nice theory Asashio, but too bad it is not the one I had in mind
And besides, it disobeyed a few Red words statements I had posted before, by DOUBLE-CHECKING I meant look closely, Sometimes I left a few words or phrases un-red'ed for a purpose in a red statement.

-Neither Kanon nor Jessica had locked the door

Huh... is there actually a reason for the blackened words in a red sentence? I was under the impression that it was there for emphasis...

...I guess it's because the author only recited a part of the original request in red?

Just wanna make sure that it's not a love thingy. :Either way, I think the only thing left to figure out is the motive. We pretty much know who the culprit is by now..

well, but I'm still kinda lost here. what are we actually supposed to solve, really? what happened in the room, the motive, or the culprit?

If I'm still not right, please recite the following:
- Battler is just a by-stander during the murder process.
- Kanon is not the culprit and/or the murderer.
- There are only 3 people in the room during this whole thing.
- The door was locked before the murder.
- Once the door is locked, there is ABSOLUTELY no way to get inside the room.
- No supernatural or inhuman events or things or stuff or whatever are related to this whole thing / the murder. (this means that these things are not present during this whole event as well.)
- Kanon had the cleaver the whole time.

- The definition of 'culprit' is the same as 'murderer'. (If not, define culprit.)
- Battler does not know anything about the culprit's intentions, plans, or motives, before the murder occurs.
- Jessica does not know she is about to be killed.
- Kanon was the last one to enter the room.
- Battler was the last one to enter the room.
- Jessica was the last one to enter the room.

Jessica locked the door of the room were Battler and Kanon were lovey-dovey, and assaulted Kanon trying to get hold of his cleaver :P Kanon doesn't hesitate, and in a flush of anger kills Jessica. by the way, this sentence: The one assaulted Jessica was neither Kanon Nor Battler If it's not wordplay, then it still makes sense because Kanon was the one who was assaulted. Spoiler: Ok, I'm going to piece the facts: True, confirmed (more or less) facts: - Kanon and Battler like Jessica, this why they are sad when they know she's dead. - Jessica loves Kanon. - Kanon for some reason plans to kill Jessica. The most obvious possibility is that he's enraged at her. - For some reason, either Battler or Jessica locked the door, or it was locked because of a trap or a mechanism. Either way, Kanon did not lock the door, meaning he was in a hurry or just purely enraged. - Battler was the last one to enter the room. Either he was passing by at the time or he was chasing Kanon. If Kanon was the first one to enter the room, he lured Jessica in. Jessica entered after, with Battler on the back. One of them locks the door. Battler does this because he plans to kill Kanon. Jessica has no real reason to lock the door. Kanon then assaults JEssica. OR. Battler loves Jessica but can't stand her liking Kanon instead, so he enrages Kanon so they "break" up. but, instead, Kanon over reacts and runs to Jessica's room. Battler follows him, but can't keep his pace. when Battler reaches the room, he locks the door so no one may interrupt them (or he might want to assault Kanon.) He then sees Kanon about to kill her and tackles him, however Kanon knocks him out and then kills Jessica. Spoiler for Truth: -Kanon is the one who killed Jessica -Battler had locked the door -Jessica doesn't know who had killed her It can be explained as the following: One day, Jessica was sick, and she was sleeping in her room It just happened that Battler was visiting the Rokkenjima, and Kanon suspects that Jessica had a secret relationship with Battler Enraged by this, Kanon decided to kill Jessica He went into Jessica's room when she's sleeping, with a cleaver in his hand Kanon just went into the room, but forgot to lock the door Just before he was about to kill Jessica, Battler, who happened to come into the room to see whether Jessica's feeling better or not, entered and was shocked by what Kanon was doing. Battler quickly locked the door and so no one else can come in and catch Kanon in action He tried to talk him through, but Kanon was enraged, so he immediately killed Jessica without even willing to hear what Battler's about to say After the murder, Battler felt sad and explained that it was all a misunderstanding, and Kanon realized what he had done, only can help by starring at Jessica's corpse.

Battler is the man, and it was his fault it was happening :P this was one of the reasons that amde me strain the brain alot more. :P supposedly, you'd kill the one who's harming the relationship with your loved one, isn't that right? ^^ and battler should not close the door, probably so he could escape with Jessica if needed, or after fighting with Kanon. after all, he is still physically weaker. Still, very nice one :P Maybe we should try another one just to keep us entertained :P
