Benicio Del Toro Joins Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy; Is He Playing Thanos?:

"Benicio Del Toro has reportedly joined the upcoming Marvel movie, "Guardians of
the Galaxy."

According to Deadline, the actor is playing a lead role in the outer space action
movie.

The actor has reportedly inked a deal for the option to appear in multiple movies,
leading to rampant speculation that he's been tapped to play alien villain Thanos,
who was seen in the very last scene of "The Avengers.""

Oh, god, he's gona be in the movie? That is hilarious. It does seem kind of a departure from the other movies though, that have stuck mostly with "human" characters.

This looks actually like it might be pretty damn epic.
Sure it's easy to get your hopes up with trailers these days but then I tend to not really care if I do or don't, if I like it when I see, I like it, if I don't then I don't.

Can't wait to see Rocket in action

Star-Lord is Space Dandy fucking around with a $175m budget lol. This looks so different and weird, I think this is the definition of crazy enough to work.

That clip was hilarious. How long after the other Marvel movies is it set again? Couple thousand years?

Also, foresee a lot of Gamora fan-stuff in the future.

People are saying Star Lord is 29 years old and he left Earth at 8 years old during the Eighties. This is why he had a Walkman. This also means they are in the PRESENT.

Technologically the local hardware store in Space has tech that would knock Tony Stark's socks off. Rocket Raccoon in the comics was able to near instantly repair Tony's damaged Ironman armour, and made the point that his armour is not impressive in the slightest on the galactic stage. Tony learns fast and eventually catches up, but that took time.

In the Galactic stage, we have entire species of people who have superpowers, and wide spread cybernetic enhancements. This is why even though Thor is impressively strong, his people do NOT rule the universe. Not even close.

Not a big fan of Marvel (or DC). I liked their stuff when I was little, but I forgot about it some time ago. The only reason I know about this movie is because I hate the guy that plays Drax

Looks like it will be cool though, in that flashy type of cool that's fun once in a while.
