Galko-chan is realistically sexy. Okay... I don't even know what that means but I don't know how to explain my fondness of her. lol Anyway, it is a bit of a surprise that this series actually is an 8-minute thing, longer than I expected. However the 1st episode didn't disappoint so far. Brief, quick introductions and then right onto the meat, literally. It's really informative in various ways, I definitely learned a thing or two... and it touches on subjects that a lot of shows would never dare mention. Things only seen in certain doujinshis. Galko's "gyaruru!" at the beginning was adorable. And then I had a good laugh at most of Galko's twists that happened at the end of a skit, especially when she mentioned that boy who got his fingers broken because he tried to stab her butt.
Anyway, definite keeper. I'm a fan of Galko-chan already and I'm sure I will learn some more useful... and more importantly useless things that I didn't want to know!

Episode 1
It was an okay episode. It had some amusing stuff here and there. I think I'll continue this one a bit. It's just seven minutes so it won't hurt I guess. Although the Blondie MC doesn't exactly look appealing. Would have given me another reason if she was. |

she's like one of those "fun girls"... that is both pure and naughty at same time...
while talking dirty she maintains the innocence. Also, I see... boobs size... I learned something new today. (now imagines it on big boob girls I pass by) |

Not bad. Not spectacular, but not bad for a short. I honestly like characters like Galko, who seem to be nasty and worldly and "slutty" but turn out to actually be incredibly innocent, shy and sweet. And forgive me if anyone finds "slutty" offensive, but hearing the way they talk about her can you think of a better word for their thoughts on her character? They did a great job of hammering this misconception in quick with the truth behind her "wild night". And forgive me for saying that my opinion of her went up when she revealed that she knew massages had nothing to do with breast growth because no man had ever touched hers. My opinion in that area is the same regardless of gender: self control and high standards concerning who you'll go all the way with and when are great traits, so lack of experience is something one should be proud of.
All that said, I will admit I found a couple of the discussions a little gross. I kinda knew that girls had hair there too, but I really didn't need to hear people talk about it. Not sure whether that's better or worse than hearing girls talk explicitly about their cycles, will have to wait and see. Looking over this episode though, I think my favorite spot was when Galko texted from the restroom that she'd cut off all her eyebrows. |

More icky stuff and biology in episode 2. I normally avoid stories with lots of cringe factor dialogue in them but this one, it's OK for some reason. Perhaps it's because the girls (and the boys to a lesser extent) aren't as creeped out about what they're discussing as normal anime characters would be.
The seiyuu in charge of the voice-over at the beginning of each episode is doing a wonderful job of asking "icky stuff" questions in a delightfully prim schoolmarmish manner. "Is it true that virgins use pads, and non-virgins use tampons?" Oh, and the poster the girls are standing in front of in the title card half-way through this episode? It's for the "Flower Garden" Proctology Clinic which offers a "Haemorrhoids removed while you wait" service...

Episode 2 was once again quite... enlightening. Women hygiene products can be a bit mysterious to guys so the first segment was especially interesting. How do you take those pads out?
Galko is such a nice girl, she took one bite of Otako bread and brought a whole lot of homemade one next day. I laughed when the blonde guy told the other two Galko would wear pink panties, but in reality he was happy because he knew she had white ones. Even if the reasoning behind it was absurd. Oppai bread! |

The first part made me laugh, simple because of the girls innocence. The answer to the opening question is no people.
