But yeah, Fern knows her really well. And the real Frieren plus a whole bunch of other allies are there too. It's not like Fern is fighting the fake Frieren alone. So her casting speed can come in handy here. That's all.

You are forgetting that Frieren also now Fern too well. So...

I doubt the clone has the original's memories. The clones don't even have minds. Chances are they only have the abilities and mana of the original.

I think it's very possible they do. After all Frieren would stomp if clone doesn't have her experiences as well and Fern wouldn't even have to move finger.

It confirmed that the clone don't have a mind though, and the girl who left also confirmed that they only used magic by imitating the host mind. Frieren strength lies in her experiences which the clone probably can't copy consider they don't have a mind. Frieren also noted that Fern is faster than her in pure speed, So giving Fern understanding pf Frieren habit, Fern likely can take down the clone much faster than frieren, and we also have to consider we have many mages there too.

That or the Mimics plan, I mean, It practically eating into Frieren existence and Mimic.

Point is as you yourself said it can imitate their counterparts mind. Four eyes doppelganger perfectly imitated personality which can't be done without use of target memories. From that conversation it's also obvious they "understand" tactics. Perfect simulation is no different from real thing from outside perspective. Only difference is one can be hypnotised and other can't.

I wouldn't doubt it.

But I wouldn't say it's over even if they beat the Freiren doppelganger. We still haven't see a Fern clone show up yet.

Assassination isn't really Fern style though. She can do it, but it's not first thing she would do. She might give lot of trouble to rest of group, but Frieren should be still able beat her relatively quickly. Fern have lot of potential, but it will still take at least few years before she get there

The clone would probably adopt that kind of style though, since the clones are more aggressive than their original. For example, Sense was said to be a pacifist, but her clone was trying to kill everyone it came across. Add the clone's killer instinct to Fern's ability to disappear her presence and you have a deadly combination.

Not true. So far clones never displayed different tactics or behavior patterns then originals. Fern doppel would attack on sight, or set ambush if opponent is stronger, but it wouldn't sneak around.

But to imagine how it must feel like to let an "issue" sit for a thousand years and not be bothered by it is beyond me. Like Elves must be the most chill persons on this world.
