Hmm... honestly, I'm 50/50 on this, especially after playing Lyney's character quest. I definitely can see there's a loose end with Halsey that could be the foundation for more exposition and there's another obvious loose end about his investigation of the Oratrice (that will come up later no matter what), but I'm not convinced that this is all an act within an act to that degree, or if it is that Lyney is the one masterminding all this to "impress" Father (as the video suggested). One reason is because of what they revealed of Lyney and Lynette's personalities and motivations in Lyney's character quest; at this point, I think it would undermine a lot of that to say there's yet another layer to the deception they're not telling the Traveler. Another reason for this is how much of the investigation, and even the discovery of Liliane, depended on Navia's involvement; she's definitely not in cahoots with the Fatui and leaving so much of this to her chance involvement is too big of a risk. (Maybe Liliane stole the food expecting Navia would put two and two together, but that's extremely risky if this was "all part of the plan.")

Now, what I would find easier to believe is that Arlecchino is the true mastermind here. She may be trying to do something with the Oratrice that is related to the prophecy, which could be why she could have told Lyney to investigate the Oratrice during his act, why she might have got Liliane to steal Halsey's ticket and take her place, allowed Lyney to be "framed" for a trial, and then later allowed Childe to be falsely convicted by the Oratrice. The whole thing would basically be a play to expose the whole situation. To me it would seem a bit more believable and in-character (at least for what they've revealed so far) if Lyney didn't understand the full game being played, but was part of a larger scheme, and this would still support the general argument being made by that video that the loose ends could be critical in terms of figuring out what's really going on.

(I saw some suggesting that Childe may have used the Primordial Water somehow to dissolve Halsey (perhaps unknowingly), which could explain where she went and could be why the Oratrice convicted him. Could perhaps have been connected to why his vision was misbehaving somehow. Him getting used as a pawn in another larger Fatui's schemes again would certainly be in character... )

memorable place. A lot of action, and a lot of cursing (lol ) between players in the early days of RO. Sadly, the game went broke sometime ago here in my country.

anyway, I already got used to the mostly single player mode of Genshin. No one gonna kill steal or loot my items.

In a away, what RO(and other MMOs) and Genshin have in common, is an ever expanding world that really gives us a feeling of how big it is are compared to the character.
RO in particular, certain maps have small hidden areas that few people explore, something that Genshin also has.

Furina and Charlotte drip marketing. This is just the start since there's still Navia, Clorinde and Arlecchino in the future. Plus a rumor in 4.4 having someone special. Oof, this is gonna be hard going forward so it helps that I can skip 4.1.

I'm a bit late due to work engagements, but wanted to talk a bit about the 4.1 story quests + Neuvillette character quest.

Spoiler for Patch 4.1 Story Content:

First of all, clearly, you can't have a flood without someone building an ark! And, if Childe's been surviving in the belly of the whale, it'll complete our biblical references. (Though, the connection between Childe and the whale is super interesting, given the tie to his vision that we're still holding (ref: his giant whale attack). I imagine this is going to be significant. And speaking of the vision we're holding, using that to tap into his memories is a pretty convenient little plot device they used here. )

Re: our time in jail... honestly, the Fontaine system is kind of silly. All you have to do to get thrown in prison is to commit any sort of petty crime, and all criminals always end up in the same place, and all things considered they have a pretty high degree of freedom. Somehow the House of Hearth gang thinks they're somehow being sneaky "infiltrating" the jail, but did they seriously not think Wriothesley would figure it out? Of course, he made it clear from the start that he knew what *we* were up to (by rolling out the red carpet for us), but he sure let us spin our wheels (in a sense -- he was purposefully allowing all of them to investigate Childe as much as they wanted, since it was convenient for him too). Was the fact we were able to figure out the "little mysteries" really enough to cause him to trust us with this giant secret they were tranquilizing people to keep? And, like, why even bother tranquilizing Lynette and Lyney if he was just going to reveal it all to us anyway and leave it up to us if we want to tell them? (I guess we're supposed to believe that he trusts us enough to know what right thing to do with the Fatui, but is it really believable that he'd trust us that much, even knowing Neuvillette sent us? Well, maybe that's actually the case...)

The sort of weird thing about the Fontaine story arc is that it seems like, in the end, there aren't really going to be any "bad guys" (at least, in the present). I guess they did tell us from the start that this was all about preventing the prophecy. In this case, although I don't really trust the Knave, it sure has every appearance so far that they're going to play this "straight" and say she is legit concerned about Fontaine and, in the end, they're all going to fight together to solve the crisis. But then it does raise a lot of questions, some of which are the ones Arlecchino was asking Furina. Why is everyone going about their plans in secret? What is Furina planning (if anything)? Does she know what Wriothesley is planning? Does Neuvillette know what Wriothesley is planning? Does he also know what Furina is planning? It's like everyone is aware of the prophecy and is trying in their own way to prevent it, but from all appearances (so far) they can't coordinate with each other because this will somehow undermine their plan -- like if anyone else finds out, it'll all be ruined. Either there's a good reason for this (yet to be shown), or this nation is kind of filled with idiots. (I guess most likely scenario here is that all the pieces are connected to each other, whether or not it was ever truly "all part of the plan.")

I think the strongest burden the plot has to resolve in the closing act is the mystery of Furina herself. I dare say she is somewhat in need of "redemption" from the plot so far, as they've mostly portrayed her to be inept, clueless, and weak. They were careful to emphasize this time her moment of clarity and "godliness" contrasted by her subsequent seeming collapse, so that seems to be a clear hint. They've also emphasized that she doesn't have the gnosis, so it makes me think that she's given the gnosis and practically all of her power to whatever it is she's planning, and this leaves her extremely weak and vulnerable. When they portrayed her as being legit afraid of being killed and traumatized by the assassination attempt, it was both heart-wrenching and puzzling -- I can understand Arlecchino's speculation that she isn't even the Archon at all. But, I do fully expect that redemption will come for her in 4.2, not least of which is because she's going to be released as a powerful Archon that people will want to wish for. I'm sure she'll have her chance to shine.

The other thing that gives me some confidence they're going to deliver on Furina's characterization in the end is the treatment of Neuvillette here. It's funny how, many times now, the Traveler's presence as an immortal outsider has a way of causing time to move again for fellow "immortal" characters in this game. The cutscene at the end was a very powerful way of illustrating how Neuvillette is able to feel emotions through the rain and how this overwhelms him; although he has the image of someone who feels too little, he's of course the embodiment of someone who feels too much and just doesn't know how to show or process it. The kid calling out "Hydro Dragon, don't cry!" and the subtle smile at the end as the sky clears... just perfect. If his assigned role in the end of all this (as hinted in the cutscene where he pushes back the primordial water) is to serve as the impartial "judge" for all of Fontaine and determine its fate, then this subtle quest (and the small realization that the world has changed by his actions and he isn't an outsider anymore) honestly might be a significant turning point in the plot.

All in all... the thing I continue to like about Fontaine is how they are developing this giant story from so many different angles at once and it feels very closely interconnected. The intertwining of lore and story is much more refined in this region -- the scale is grander, and even little things call back to each other. I still need to finish the new World Quests this time, but I can see even from my initial exploration that it's going to be strongly connected to the backstory we got in the last World Quests. And again, the fact that the world quests are so strongly connected to the overarching lore and plot makes them much more relevant and rewarding to play alongside the main story, which is a great improvement (although I actually like the Aranara questline and the other Sumeru ones as well... they just were a bit more "standalone").

(Oh yeah, and the fact they brought up the Melusine's very different abyss-tainted vision is also a nice interconnection. That whole reveal is honestly fascinating to me and it feels like it's going to continue to have more significance as we get to understand even more about the truth of the Abyss. That the Melusines perceive the Abyss as a beautiful paradise makes me legit wonder what they see the "real world" as, and yet remain so friendly...)

One thing I really like about 4.x is many world quests (especially those related to 'Mary-ann' and Research Institute) have connection to the lore in Archon quest.

I have a question, I'm a free-to-play player, and I have 16000 Primogems with 20 Intertwined Fates left from my previous pulls, and I have the guarantee to get Furina when I pull in her Banner next month. Here is the question: is worth it to use the 20 Intertwined Fates I have on me now to try my luck and get Venti with the guarantee or should I save all of my resources for Furina?.
