Well given the situation he was in, I think he had already accepted the fact that they were all going to die, plus he was probably in some kind of shock, both from the loss of Kishimoto and his limbs. When he does return alone, he's pretty devastated and the three people he wants Gantz to return are Katou Kishimoto and... yes, his girlfriend (whom he still doesn't know by name ).

Btw, what do you guys think of the next ep? Looks like they're going to mess with it as well.

Yeah? Does it sound like they got an American to do it? It always kinda bothers me when American characters just speak heavily accented Engrish. I mean, there's gotta be one American guy who's in voice acting in Japan, right?

in the next mission there is a group of 3 black guys who speak english who are around for a fair bit.

Makes you wonder though, does Gantz bring people back to life from just the nearby area? If so does that mean that the english people are on vacation in Japan or somthing

I agree it would be better if they hired real english-speaking voice actors. Those big black guys speaking english with a Japanese accent would come off as silly.

Just watched Ep. 16 Here's a few things I noted

What is up with those 2 guys beating that homless guy up, is that in the anime. Does it do anything up for the story?

In the manga Kishimoto reacted with shock and maybe disgust from Kei's Hentaish activites, but in the Anime i think I noted a hint of jealously. he keeps being cold to her giving her mean looks, she keeps lookng at him with that sad puppy face. I dont get it, in the manga she was supose to be a "Katou" freak, so why are they trying to make a sort of love triangle. Maybe its just me.

Ep 17 homeless?

I didn't realize it was the same person from the begining when Kei and Kato saved him from the subway track. Now reflecting back, Kishimoto also met him when she was sleeping on the park bench.

I'm not quite sure, he kinda looks alike with the other homeless who got killed.

Also did he saw Kato and Kei?

Is he an alien?

That scene wasn't in the manga so I think you can safely ignore it.

Yea, it wasn't in the manga, but I doubt he was an alien. My guess is the anime producers decided to throw the subway drunk back in to show "Man, WTF did we save this guy for? We ended up dying and all he did was die anyway..."

Well the homeless was kinda... well more like really suspicious now. I rewatch the episodes including the DVD.

The homeless person who got beaten to death in episode 16 looks the same as the one that walking around in episode 17. Also I just watched episode 1 DVD, definitely it's the same guy who been stalking Kurono since the begining and the reason he got ran over by the train. I really like to think that all was just all coincidence, but after seeing him got beaten to death in episode 16 and then in episode 17 there was another homeless exactly look like him and was watching the first copy got beaten to death. It just too weird to be coincidence anymore.

Maybe the homeless are alien that all look the same like the bird alien. Or they are duplicates made by Gantz to find people who going to die.

It's just some filler that's meant to be mysterious but never leads anywhere. Most of the other characters have extra filler scenes in the anime as well, like when they saw the Lara Croft girl in the bookstore. The old lady with the little boy had an extra scene in the anime as well I think.

The crew are definitely better this time, that one guy who were sniping is really amazing, he did a head shot from that distance. Kurono also doesn't hesitate anymore and he pulled off some cool stuffs in this episode.

And more buddha aliens came out, looks like the entire season could be about this mission. That's alot of stuffs to take out.

Kurono was definately more efficient at killing aliens, but I had the feeling that was only because he just didn't care anymore.

Yup, judging how the last seson ended I think it would. Most likely mid way though the next mission will be this seasons end. And this mission is FAR better than the next one or any of the ones before, go Kei! ^_^

I don't quite really understand the homeless part...

the two homeless are not the same person, the homeless killed in ep16 is balding, the one killed in ep17 is not... however I don't understand why the switching of the scenes between Kurono berserking and the homeless that they saved in ep1 getting killed. Are they trying to imply that the humanity in Kurono is dying? or they are trying to say that Kurono killing aliens in berserk now is like those guys killing the homeless? I just don't get it...

That's interesting...

Because the aliens might be 'homeless' aliens stranded on earth as well.

And in episode 18 I definately thought they were trying to show that Kurono was becoming more inhuman.

Anyway, the scenes with those guys with baseball bats aren't even in the manga so you can just ignore them IMO.

yup, that part is not in the manga, but I'm really wondering why they decide to put it in the anime

I feel the switching between scenes of Kurono going berserk and the two bat guys killing the homeless guy who was the one saved by Kurono and Katou really should serve some reasons... I'm more in favor of it implying that the humanity in Kurono is dying... or the brave heroic side in Kurono is dying... the homeless guy could be said as an evidence of Kurono's human/heroic side...

I don't quite like comparing Kurono killing aliens to bat guys killing homeless guys... but then the same song before the killing might be a hint to this... although I'd say there's the difference that the GANTZ guys killing aliens for their own survival, while those bat guys are just killing homeless guys for fun...

I guess it could be a hint of the anime taking a new original route in the plot?
