From what I understand, he didn't think it was that OP, and that katana was one he used in his past life so he's very used to it as compared to the bamboo sword.

His OP weapon is still a blunt force weapon incapable of slashing, though it can break through anything as long as enough force is applied.

His katana is the one he used in his previous life, one he apparently crafted himself AND due to the presence of mana in the new world and the blood of the enemies it bathed in the previous one, it gained sentience

Is she related to another elf that appears with her in vol 4 cover?

Also lol at the color illustrations of vol 6 which shows the samurai girl (drunked?)seducing Renya with her assets
