Actor and Comedian Robin Williams has passed away
Quote:
http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/11/showbi...html?hpt=hp_t1 Robin Williams has died. He is one of the greats in the world of cinema. I grew up with him. He was in some movies I loved as a kid. This is terrible news. The world lost a great comedian and actor.

Was about to head out then heard it on the radio. I then looked for some credible online news sources.
Man....this one hurts....Good Will Hunting, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society. Guy was a source of a lot of good memories in good titles. You just never know with something like this, do you. His publicist did say that lately, he had been suffering depression. Just hope his poor soul finds peace and that his family get some space to grieve.

Celebrities die all the time, but I'll be damned if I feel the same way about this one. I was a huge fan of Robin Williams' comedy and cinematic roles for decades. It's just painful to hear that he was so unhappy he killed himself.

A great loss to comedy.
But is act, skits, tv, and films will live on. Most of us would know the films, but some that are older would remember Mork and Mindy, the unsuccessful revamp of Laugh-In, and the film Popeye. Also the joy that is Robin Williams and Jonathan Winters on stage together (total madness with Johnny Carson). Closely followed by Williams with Billy Crystal on stage.

Aladdin, Hook, Blobber, Bicentennial Man, Jumanji and Jack were one my many favorite movies starring Robin Williams during my childhood and it truly saddens me that we lost someone I consider one the crown jewel of cinema.
First, we lost Paul Walker and now Robin Williams... Why?... *sigh*

Man... I wasn't a huge Williams fan, but he did have talent. I hear that a lot of comedians have very low self-esteem and use comedy to protect themselves. Maybe this played into it with him?

As someone who grew up watching films he starred on, this is a rather difficult news to swallow. And due to suicide of all things...
May eternal light shine upon him.
