Mia. I have two lvl 19s there, an assist *why can't they call them priests like every other mmorpg?*, and a mage. The only other character I have is the one I created on mushpoie, currently a lvl 10 vagrant. I could create another character on lawolf though. I think I've got a good idea of the fastest places to level up to about 15. I'll get started on that after I finish the stupid quests I'm on. I may disagree with toxic about the leveling in general, but he's right about the quests. You don't get a lot of exp for killing lvl 15 monsters with a lvl 19 character.

First it gets a Korean release. Then, the first on their list is a Southeast Asian release, which a lot of people presume will be in English. That has been GungHo's plans for ECO for a while back - the Korean release was tacked on probably because they took Gravity as its distributor.

Ho~ Interesting news. My boyfriend (and I *cough*) will be happy.

I tried this out awhile back when it was free. I loved it, but didn't get very far because I had no idea what I was doing. Still, the design and overall cuteness factor still tugs at my whiny "I wanna plaaaay" strings.

omg lol u ppl...
i posted like a week ago on the 1st page and got a few ppl to play FlyFF LOL
didnt expect that to happen....xD!!!
anyways after u bought back memories of my flyff time 2 months ago
i loggd on yday and alot has changed O.o
flyff is packd full of updates every week with something different
i admit with every game the lvlin is hard but its so worth it =D
im lvl 75 healer type person (assist >> ringmaster) on aibatt server
lawolf is the oldest server, aibatt 2nd, mushpoie is 3 months old and mia is a month old. fast growin community =P! u prob wud settle in better in the newer servers
im addicted again coz of the new items i cud get for my character.

stuff that is worth keepin until u know the market value:
rare items have their name in green. worth from 5000 to millions just depends wot u got.
the normal items with special bonuses name is brown ~ which is also kinda rare
any jewellry. from 100000 to 50million+ again it depends wot u got..and how much stats it adds.
powerdices are needed to upgrade ur equip in the future. price value from most expensive to least expensive: pd12 = several million, pd4 = about 150-300k dependin on server, pd6 = 50-200k dependin on server, pd10 = 20-70k, pd8 = 5-50k dependin on server. those r jus estimates ive only playd on aibatt so could be very differnt on other servers.
monster drops/quest items...are indeed quest items and can gain u equip, money + exp ~ u can sell the extra drops if u have any to other players who mite need it.
cash shop items (worth millions of ingame money coz bought with real money~ u can check what they are if u look @ the flyff shop.)

if ur unsure ask players around u
some can be very friendly and others look down at u as in every other game
so dnt be put off by a few pooheads lol
usually i just look at other ppl shops and compare prices
use the forums ~ i find them highly useful
or u can search for fan information websites.
its more enjoyable if u made some friends and lvld together in parties
its more fun bein noobs and become pros together isnt it? lol

oh and about the questing thing. its only necessary if u need money and exp.
u can find walkthroughs of the quests online with what reward they give so u can decide which quests u do.
i rather jus lvl with 2-5 lvl higher monsters than me and do the quests i need only :P oh and i love tradin

Oh, I complain about them, but to be honest, I actually enjoy doing the quests. I just missed a few with my mage. Normally, I'd do any questing at the earliest level possible. Plus, it gives me a chance to level up skills. Though it would be much more profitable to just sell the quest items.

As for the items, thanks for the info. It's a bit general, but it still helps a lot.

I was around in ECO long enough to last until Saga 2, the feared implementation of the P2P system. Back then, the highest level was 40, which later got raised to 50. I had a level 38 character when the highest level was 40, then deleted her.

You got that right. The game has everything I want in an RPG - customizable character options such as face, clothing, hair, even weapons. They all have different looks and it makes for great variety in a character, even if everyone goes for the same armor and weapons. Though armors and weapons do have durability, so you have to watch out: if the item's durability gets worn out, the item breaks and you have to get it repaired. At least, that's what happens now in Saga 2 onwards; before in Saga 1, items would just vanish. XD Man did I burn through a lot of Long Spears.

The emoticons were also fun to play around with. They would actually make your character move and act out: made some great and hilarious moments for RPing, or AFKing. Seeing a Swordmaster in full Swordmaster suit (meaning he/she had to be around 35, which was pretty high back then) AFK while in /orz while having a text sign above his head was so hilarious.

Plus, the world is also vast. Travelling through the various areas makes for great RPing, and some of the fields even suit their nature. In the implementation of Saga 1, the snowfields around the Northern Promenade would take away 5 HP per second due to the freezing cold! The bonfire skill would allow one to recover 5 HP per second to counter this effect, and it was just plain awesome seeing several characters lounging around a bonfire in the middle of a snow field. I hear that with Saga 4, many more fields have been added, and the camera angles are even able to provide more cinematic perspectives.

Let's see...I went through several characters in this game. First I had Ailysse, a Fencer who specialized in Spear Mastery. Then I went with Alkenshel, a Swordmaster using Two Handed Swords until I got tired of them. Then I created Katarina, a Scout who used Daggers, and Kirisawa, my Merchant. In another account I had an Archer, Vates (the healer class), and a Shaman, Mizuna. Three accounts per character, and I had to have a friend help me level my own characters, lol. XD

The "hyoui" system in this game is great. It allows you to endow your character onto any piece of equipment such as shields, weapons, and armor, and allows any other character to pick up that equipment you are currently possessing. It not only allows you to gain experience while that person fights with your equipment, but also has the advantage of possessed equipments not having any reduction in durability as they are used. It also allows the character in possession of the equipment to assist the character using his equipment through his skills.

Plus, the greatest experience during the whole thing was how the whole Japanese community was just so fun to be with. Chinese farmers aside, the whole player community was so nice to be with, and some were very friendly to the English-speaking players. The game designers also held several many fun events resulting in exp and great items, and it was also wonderful when they remodelled Acropolis City during the Halloween event, and gave us all floating brooms as a quest reward.

...Don't mind my ramblings, I'm just reminiscing about my time in ECO.

lol np
and another tip i didnt think about wen i was lower lvl
as soon as u change class at lvl 15
u get to redistribute stat points again right
choose carefully on what stats u do
and think about what type of build u want
like aoe (lots of sta), quick (dex), powerful (str/int) dependin on class
and think about wot 2nd class u want to be when u hit lvl 60
as it'd be permanent unless u wanna spend about 20 million + / 2000 gpotatoes for a Scroll of Restat....(i had to do that LOL ~ coz i had the totally wrong build)
u may not have seen it but ive heard of some mages with str...lol xD
plan ahead ~ coz wrong build = weak char xD
u shud either specialise in aoe or 1 on 1 attack. its better that way
like either full sta with little str/int or full int/str with little sta
or full dex with little sta (acro) or full sta or full dex or full str or full int lol

I have a lvl 21 mage and lvl 20 assist on Mia, Nanoha4356 and Kozue4356. On mushpoie I have a lvl 16 merc. Same name as my sn here, Kamui4356.

Thewanderer also has a character on mushpoie, so that would probably be the best choice.

Mushpoie it is then... any particular class I should pick? I'll go with any. Btw, having Gameguard problems...is there a site I can directly download it from?

EDIT: Got it. =) Name will be Sayfer.

Well, M&M IS turned based, and what makes it worst is that you have the option to let your character and monster automatically attack the monster, and you have a button that automatically engages you into a battle. Also, even if your monster does die in battle, it will automatically be revived after the battle, although at 1hp. (Who cares if your monster has high dodge rate?) That, coupled with a mouse macro, equates to a very bad mmorpg.

If by real time battles, you mean giving commands to your pet in a real time battle, then its already been done, but with digimon (Digimon world, on the psx). Of course, its not a mmorpg, so...

Well, unless its the broom quest or job quests, the average quest you get between 2-3 levels require you to kill monsters of that level, and they make up for about...85% of all quests in FlyFF. So you don't have to complain about constantly fighting monsters @ lower levels than you.

Lets see...Runescape, R.O.S.E Online, RYL2 (For about 20+ levels, during free trial), FlyFF (English/Japanese), Maplestory (English/Japanese), Ragnarok online (private server), Conquer(?) online (Played for 5 levels and quit because the game was basically botter's paradise), Monster and Me (Reasons for quiting listed above), Renewal (A mmorpg that was managed by Singapore, no longer exists now.), Dark Eden, Ran Online, KAL Online, Gate to Heaven, Knight Online, MU Online, Silkroad (which I currently play).

If case you don't know, Flyff was originally created by the Koreans, and Korean-created mmorpgs are known to have insane leveling rates. And yes, most of the quests ARE about getting quest drops/killing X amount of monsters. As of now, majority of the mmorpgs that you see online (meaning games that are F2P and have cash shop functions) are translated korean mmorpgs.

The only reason that I can see why you are complaining about the leveling rate of FlyFF is that you are not the average mmorpg gamer. The act of "grinding", which just about ANY mmorpg experienced person should know about, requires you to have the patience of spending an entire day, for weeks and months, killing monsters to gain experience, and nothing else. Getting 0.2% per kill is considered FAST by many people's standards.

You would probably say "I have a life, unlike those Koreans/Japanese", but in the end, thats the way it works. The only reason GW has fast exp rates is because:
1) There is only a total of 20 levels, with grinding only used for getting skill points, or so I heard.
2) Unlike MOST mmorpgs, GW is basing itself as a PVP game rather than "In the battle of level XX vs level XX, and the higher level will most definately win unless the lower level has godly items and the higher level doesn't." Your level doesn't matter in GW, skills and how you execute/time them is.

So yea, I really don't see why leveling in FlyFF is "fucked up".

Seems like flyff's been having server problems the past two days. I was just dced and can't log back in... Plus earilier today lawolf was down. Mia server was flooded with lvl 1 characters from people with characters on lawolf. I got to level up res with my assist thanks to them.

Anyway, my characters are:

Kozue4356(f)- fs assist, lvl 28, mia server. My favorite character. I say she's full support, but really I put a few points into str and leveled tamping hoe so I can defend myself a bit. Still, I can barely fight one on one with mias, which are lvl 23 monsters.

Nanoha4356(f)- mage, lvl 24, mia. My strongest character by far, Such devestating spells. Now if I can just find a staff that looks like raging heart...

Kamui4356(m)- merc lvl 21, mushpoie. Not a bad character, but I have't really played much with him lately as I haven't decided whether to go knight or blade...

Nadia4356(f)- bow acro, lvl 18, mia. Got off to a slow start, but now that she's gained a few levels, I'm starting to like her. shame junk arrow misses so often. Though if it didn't the game would be horrible unbalanced, as if all 4 shots hit it'd do about 1000-1200 damage almost immediately. *250-300 x4*

I want to make a combat assist at some point, and a yoyo acro. That can wait a bit though.
