Way over the 50,000 size limit, save it as a jpg and not a png.

@ganbaru. Rendering issues? Ha ha, no. It's a displacement map for effect. Render has no jagged edges.

Also, this will be my final, but DON'T collect it just yet *puppy eyes* I might get a way to fixing some minor details.

Thank you! :3

There is a big chance that I will be absent from forums for a few days if not more, so I decided to post my entry now.

Final Entry

That's not to say that I don't like your final entry for cyberpunk. I just think the other was more original
Oh...sorry Marina, didn't mean to make you sad. I just thought the other sig didn't have any steam in it, so wasn't sure whether it really fit the theme or not.

There aren't many steampunk entry sigs though...hmmm...I wonder if I should switch my entry just to add variety to the list. I'm torn...I like both this cyberpunk entry and that previous steampunk sig.

Loving the look of all the entries. I think, PreSage, that i'm gonna agree with Marina that the gears one was really cool. but it of course is entirely up to you.

Best of luck to y'all!

Changed my *deleted* to this one.

@Marina and Illusore: LOL. Okay, you guys won me over. I know this one isn't as "cool" as the other entries but there are so few steampunk entries I think putting this one in will add some variety just for the fun of it. Honestly, I do have a soft spot for this sig. I just wasn't sure how well it fit the steampunk theme, since it...well, doesn't have any steam.

My understanding of a steampunk entry is that steam isn't necesarily a requirement per se. Instead, the mechanical aspect of the entry must look like it comes from the steam machine era. Your rotating gears would be essential for any steam-driven machine to function. I think it fits the steam machine qualification fine. Of course, I'm don't have the final say, so consider this me just putting in my 2 cents worth on the question.

@ PreSage, just one thing is bothering me while looking at your steampunk entry: can thoses gears really work or the 2 smalls one should be blocking the 2 great one ?

To me it appears the smallest one on left is spinning against the largest one and it definitely can't work like that. I might be wrong though, with so little frames it looks quite bad and it's hard to see which way they're spinning.

O_o;

I initially had them spining in a more "technically correct" rotation but decided to change it for a artsy purpose. In short, no, they aren't supposed to work. I can't put any more frames in due to AS filesize limit - otherwise, you'll need a microscope to see the sig. *sigh*

hmm...

Okay, I made another attempt to smooth out the animation. Had to use a different set of gears as the other ones always give the swaying motion when they move. I'm sad that I can't find gears with the same metallic colour as the previous ones though.

So...how's this one? (although, and this could just be me...but the older gears and its jerky movements give me more of a nostalgic feeling... )

Spoiler for version something:

(...I think I'm just digging myself a deeper hole... orz)

...and forgive me for making a double-post.

I know what you mean, always happen when you rotate something circular. D:

PreSage, in my opinion those gears need more blending, maybe by filling the space behind them would help. I like the sig but I feel like something is missing (but can't tell what). But this depends on preference (Riker likes it )

Nope, you're not one of those. Your name will show up at the bottom since you're not using Invisible Mode.

I guess that would be me then but cannot be completely certain. Rika's superpowers must make him visible and invisible at the same time!

Whoa...haven't seen you around for a while Riker. I miss seeing your pro animated sigs in the SOTM.

Can't do anything about that. I'm already at the very limit for filesize. If only the gears have the same metallic colour as the old gears, then it would have been better. Oh well...I'll try to see if I can dig up other sets of gears.
