Nasa reveals new spacesuit

Quote:
Nasa's next generation of space suit - the agency's first in 20 years - will look familiar to fans of computer generated cartoon classic Toy Story.
That's because the new white and green Z-1 suit bears more than a passing resemblance to the interstellar hero Buzz Lightyear.
The prototype suit was revealed in a host of pictures uploaded today to photo-sharing website Flickr, and it boasts trim of the same hue as that worn by the space ranger action figure.

Oh, I've thought about using it for that before, but I don't think that resolution for 3D Printers is good enough yet.

NASA, where are our flexible and...tight... bodysuits? I am disappoint.

Still, sounds pretty awesome compared to what they have now.

My mother just recently showed this video to me, and I just had to post it here!

The man who speaks here, Fal Sarkar, is my uncle! I saw him but two days ago for a Christmas party!

Which must mean (barring adoption) you too are descended from Mr. Bose? That's a cool legacy, my friend.

Well the Nobel Prize rules state that prizes can't be awarded to late scientists.

Science usually takes a long time before the impact of discoveries reveal themselves, so there has been many great scientists who would have been worthy of the Nobel Prize but didn't live to be nominated.

I think its pretty cool how much the internet has grown, as I believe that the internet is the greatest invention (or, rather, innovation) of all time. No other system can hold as much and as diverse of information as the internet can, and it reflects many, many forms of culture in the world (and developed its own).

I wonder what it will be like in the future.

If built, such systems would behave in strange ways, says Achim Rosch, a theoretical physicist at the University of Cologne in Germany, who proposed the technique used by Schneider and his team. For instance, Rosch and his colleagues have calculated that whereas clouds of atoms would normally be pulled downwards by gravity, if part of the cloud is at a negative absolute temperature, some atoms will move upwards, apparently defying gravity.

Physics keep becoming more and more..."bizarre". No idea is taboo or idiotic anymore, they seriously consider everything!

Title is really misleading, in our current thermodynamical understanding, negative temperature isn't colder than absolute zero, more like it's superior to positive infinite temperature.

Something like

0k< ...< 273K ...< +∞ ... <-∞ ... <-300K ...<-0K
