The series suffered Resident Evil Syndrome. It started as a horror series but it then went Michael Bay when the other Kurono was revived by Reika. To make it worse, the pacing was so slow that I bet many people quit in the final arc. I just kept Reading it as they were 15 pages every 15 months

WHAT THE HECK?

Ok so to review:
We have the Gantz Machine which can bring people back to life.
We found out that if you talk about Gantz, you die.
We find out Gantz was invented in Germany by Jabba the Hut
We find out that 100points means you can leave Gantz.
Gantz wants the 100 pointers to come back by sending them strange small black balls.
We find out that Gantz needs more people to die, they ask the 100 pointers to 'help' out.
We find out there is more than one Gantz
We find out there are Gantz all around the world.
Gantz CAN use Living People (Vampire Arc)
Gantz can duplicate people
Gantz CAN ressurect people who aren't in Gantz (Tae)
The big aliens show up. They want to 'eat' our planet.
Another big alien shows up, they sent us Gantz Tech to kill the other big aliens.
We Sorta find out about how souls work. (Though they are COPIES!!!!!!!)
We then live through 100 chapters of Kato going all Yaoi over Kurono.
Kurono shows up (finally).
Gantz ends.

No Explanation of :
Why do clones have souls.
Who's soul is in Kei #2
What's going to happen now?
Why didn't the military just use Gantz to train the soldiers instead of using REGULAR PEOPLE.
No explanation if Kurono (10 year old) was a Gantz member as he had all the leet skills.
What will happen to Gantz now....
What happened to Nishi
What about the Psychics
What about the Vampires
What happened to his brother?
Why did EVERY girl with a boob size of B or above had to STAY DEAD.
Does Kurono and Kato ever get it on...(I hope not)

As bad as Negima's ending was, it was overall a decent series. Comparing this series to Negima is an insult to Negima.

I remember dropping this at 130 chapters or so. Now that you've seen it through to the end, would any of you suggest that I pick it back up?

Emmm... Not if you want a good resolution. I would only recommend it for the art. Even the action scenes became boring due to the slow pacing and the use of psychic powers plus heavy weaponry. How many chapters fighting that final alien?

Is there a scanlation for 383 yet? The raw has been out for several days but theres no scanlations yet it usually doesn't take this long. What is going on you'd think this being the last chapter they would have translated it as quickly as possible.

- It was copied. If my memory serves right a 'soul' was some collection of data so like a file on a PC it just has to be copied, which Gantz did.

Not to mention that it's scanlated into spanish since 8 days already. Which means they have all the cleans (which is the most work) done already. Translation and typesetting could be done in max 2 hours.

I only liked the series when Kurono died and came back again. And it went down hill from there.

The ridiculous BS surrounding her killed the invasion arc more than anything else. Sure, there were other problems, but none of them were bad enough (for me) to warrant dropping this manga. The Tae BS though, I just couldn't take any more. I hung on as long as I could hoping she'd be done away with, but once it became obvious that was not going to happen, it was time to kick that nonsense to the curb. Never would have thought it would come to that...

I guess I should do a quick look-over of the ending chapters now though, since there aren't that many...

I think young kei won the game earlier and thats why he didnt remember kato
And the souls werent copied as they reincarnated. If they can becopied why bother sending them to that nirvana place for a few months
