Well, I don't know about you, but I'm excited that FINALLY the "plot holes" have that potential to be filled now...now that we're back in the RL world.
plot holes filled? sorry to burst your bubble, but back into the VRMMO we go

you mean Asuna and Kirito forcing their feelings on Asuna's family. You know she's well off and has to marry into upper class blah blah blah, Love arrangements is only a recent thing in human history you know?

I am pretty sure it is legal, although not something ususally done. Note that marriage in Japan consists of only turning in a form to the local town hall. Any cermony is just optional. Considering that Asuna is incapacitated so would her parents most likely have the right to sign any documents for her.

I don't think it's legal at all. I'm pretty sure you have to be able to give consent. No even Japan should be that behind on this sort of thing.

I think the assumption is that she consented before she got put in the coma. That she was an obedient daughter who agreed to have an arranged marriage with this guy when she grew up. And she passed the legal age for marriage while she was asleep.

I don't think it works that way.

Anyway, there's no point in arguing about this. In the real world this is clearly illegal and makes no sense but Kawahara wouldn't let that bother him. It suits his story, so we have to deal with it either way.

This was all explained in the anime itself, actually. (Did you guys not watch it?) He isn't actually marrying her, because that requires consent and he knows she wouldn't give it. So instead, he's being adopted into her family, which will allow him to become heir to the company and effectively be "married" to her even though he won't actually be.

Just finished watching the episode and will have more thoughts, but just wanted to get that cleared up. He is engaged to her, but he's not going to marry her right now since he can't. See starting at about 13:30 in Episode 15.

Isn't it obvious we're talking raw? It can't be helped if some things get lost in translation.

lol - "it can't be helped". It might be nice if people could reserve judgement and see the content for themselves (in a way that they can understand) before they rush to conclusions about the details of the plot and get into big arguments about it. Just sayin'...

You make it sound like arguments are bad

I suppose the real question here is this: in what way is Silica at all like Kirito's sister such that she reminded him of her?

Has anyone besides me considered that Kirito may have been fibbing a bit when he said that to Silica? Given the real reason he partnered up with her was to get at Rosalia...

Besides, the line doesn't even make sense given Kirito's reaction -- he's clearly acting as though the ceremony will prevent him and Asuna from being together when she wakes up.

It does make sense because of what he went on to say: that, basically, Asuna is his, and he doesn't want Kirito to see her anymore. Because the engagement is apparently blessed by her father (even though it's not a marriage), Kazuto figures he isn't able to object (because he's an outsider -- the only one who could stop it is Asuna herself).

Really, just watch the episode and it will all make sense.

The new OP and ED are great. I like them more than the old ones. The OP animation sequence is awesome, but those action obscuring credits are annoying..

Suguha's such a great little sister. She's adorable.. but methinks her rack is a little too big.. Well, I don't really mind..
