The monstery one in the prologue fighting the Blue Robot is from an alternate dimension, when the blue robot teleports he jumps to the world where the main story takes place, in this world he is not a monster.

#2 "Unknown Voice" - Ramia showed up and Kyousuke's superior officer commanding the team to take the girl as their new member. Kyousuke has doubt about it.

#3 "Carrying the Cross" - Testing of "R-Blade" and "Wildfalken" at Izu Base. DC remnants show up to take the new units.

#4 ”Bonds and Commitments" - Ryusei and Latooni joins ATX team to get Wildfalken back from the DC remnants

#5 ”In the name of DC" - Shirogane is badly damaged by DC remnants. Kyousuke thinks there is something big behind the enemy.

#6 "Illusion of Ouka" - ATX team joins Hagane to go after the DC remnants. On the other side School's top ace "Ouka Nagisa" is being ordered to go after Latooni.

i just saw the first episode, and i think i'm gonna like this, but do i need to go back and watch the first season?, like am i gonna miss the storyline if i didn't see the first season?

The only thing that would be troubling you is the characters, I guess. You won't miss much without watching Divine Wars.

I am in the camp which thinks Divine Wars sucks. But after reading the first 6 episode summary of OG - inspectors. I am starting to think if I am being too harsh.

Everyone knows both divine wars and inspectors come from games. I don't think there are any doubts that plotwise, OG2 is better than OG1, mostly because of OG2 have plenty more memorable scenes:

The main problem, is that even with OG2 having more awesome scenes than OG1, all these kick-ass scene won't appear until at least half way through the show. So unless the director being extremely awesome and make normal scene

into awesome, I am worried that the first half of OG-inspectors would also be "slow", the same criticism OG-divine wars receive.

Another way, is to condense the less exciting first half into fewer episode and start the awesomeness way before the midway point, but I doubt that will be the case judging on the first 6 episode summary.

It is not as much the fault of the writer/ director as the fault of it being game based. All games have their awesome stuff at the end and the first half are mostly leveling up. Thus the problem of some people claiming ep1 as "shooting stationary enemies".

Of course OG-divine wars also sucks in animation quality but I don't think we need to worry about that in OG-inspectors. However, unless the director can work out the pacing issues OG-inspectors won't reach its potential that it has. Base on the awesome scenes in OG2, OG-inspectors has the potential to become a classic mecha anime.

What Divine Wars lacked wasn't just the animation quality and good fights, I think even characters themselves weren't presented in their full light. Most time in the show was wasted on political conversations and fights were rushed with some epic ones happening offscreen and some being absent.

Just watching the first episode of The Inspector you can tell that it's already in pair with some Gundum shows, which we, SRW fans, expected ages ago. I really don't want them to rush, I want pacing to be slow and that they concentrate on every detail that made OG2 so awesome.

Like Duo Maxwell said, you'll only have trouble with characters. I would still advise you to go and play first game on GBA because you would appreciate the show even better then. Or, if you don't feel like it, you can just read the summary of previous season on page 8.

just hoping that they didnt rush the story like last-half of DW, I prefer fast-pace on beginning but slow-pace on ending because many good scene happens late in game. well, after reading spoiler, I think the story pace is still acceptable

So they're sort of mixing things up here. Episode 3 is combining the R-blade test and the Wildfalken hijack into one event in Izu, 4-5 is the pursuit of the stolen Falken, with the Shirogane gettng WTFpwned by the DC in 5, then on to the Earth route, where the Hagane gets ambushed by Ouka and Echidna (and we get to see the R-Ein). Since they seem to be leaving out the TD and Hiryu stages, this brings us up to Scenario 10 (Earth Route), which means we can start looking forward to Alfimi showing up in the near future.

To be fair most of the events on the Moon route were pretty damn boring except Arad kicking ass, its just basically Ryuusei goes off to collect R-1. Hiryu Kai doesn't really get into the main story till the whole Inspector invasion of the Moon Cradle and Tesla Institutes.

Spoiler for ep 2:

On one side we have Lamia Loveless joining ATX team. Trying to fit in wit her limited social skills. Excellen really throws a curve ball on her. "Excellen-sama" heh.

DC Remnants are targeting ancient Choukijin(?) Attacking the civilian archeologists. The captain being a sadist despite some objections from his subordinates.

Shirogane responds sending the ATX team. The Byakko type inside the mound responds to Bullets justice awakening.

But something isn't right as the pilots feels sick. Suddenly these things which has tentacles resembling those of Beowolf's mecha appear. They start blasting the mound where the Choukijin are. Something happens mentally to Excellen with her eyes turning red for brief moment.

The two Choukijin fully awaken and starts trashing the alien mecha. The Byakko tiger looks at Bullet before it leaves.

That does not match what I can see in the image. /whisper I was the one who posted that translation on a certain imageboard, but it was based on a snippet of info from 2ch. Said snippet of info does not match what is on the newtype listing.

Lack of Mizuho in the ending and no section showing the Excellence team would suggest based off the OG2 instead of OGs to me. Shame that they probably won't do OGG then. Compatible Kaiser would be awesome to see. Then again, I didn't see Ibis in the ending either so...
